This was our first and last stay at this property. On paper, it looked like a lovely golf resort. In practice, it felt like a worn-out Vegas resort - large, crowded, ragged amenities, poor service.
Trouble started at check-in. We arrived in time for our 4pm check-in, and our room wasn't ready. We waited for over an hour, then asked again and it still wasn't ready. Not acceptable when a guest is waiting. They kept saying how the room will be worth the wait (it was not) but when empty words have to take the place of a good product, you know things aren't going well.
What was worse was the check-in person had no energy or compassion, and kept trying to push us away. We had to insist and finally got a manager, who at least, gave us some resort credit to ease the pain. Though when we asked for a late checkout to compensate for time lost, they could not extend for more than an hour.
Finally, we got in 90-min late. We were in a 1BR suite at The Cottages. The location was nice, though we were facing a driving range / road, not the actual golf course (another disappointment). The room itself and its furnishings were extremely worn out and felt like an inexpensive motel. We sat out for a bit to enjoy the scenery. Rest things were functional.
Next day, at breakfast at the Grill, service was non-existent even though they were mostly empty. No one came to check, refill coffee or even bring the check!
