Very charming hotel
We really enjoyed this hotel. The staff was lovely and the location is perfect. We booked an attic room, which I would do again, but just know that there is essentially only a bathtub because you cannot stand up to shower due to the slant of the ceiling. This was no problem for me because I enjoy baths.

We stayed in Nantes for 3 days during a tour of Northern France and I'm glad we chose the Voltaire Opera Hotel. The hotel is a short walk to city centre shopping and there are loads of great restaurants and bars close by. I would particularly recommend La Cigale restaurant for it's amazing food and art deco interior. The hotel staff are all welcoming and friendly and all spoke perfect English which was really helpful when we got our car locked into the nearby car park and didn't know who to contact to get it out. Thank you to the gentleman on reception who helped us! We will definitely stay here again when we're next in the area.

Staff very friendly and helpful. All spoke good English. Car park only 3 minute walk away. I have large ford focus and had no problem in the parking lot. Breakfast very good and room excellent.

Friendly staff, great location with delicious breakfast including organic and local produce and homemade jams. No air conditioning in our family room was the only negative point on a hot few days but it was a spacious room with great shower.

Having disembarked from a Loire River Cruise we arrived at the hotel at 9 am to drop off our baggage. Firstly, the receptionist invited us into the breakfast room for a coffee. Then whilst we were having coffee, she told us that our room was ready. This exemplified service that goes over and beyond. The hotel is superbly located, a 2 minute walk from Graslin Place and the Opera House.

Good hotel in a nice part of Nantes.
+ A nice hotel in a good area of Nantes. It is easy to get to all the major attractions either by working or a short tram ride. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. - The room was quite small and was very hot. There is no air conditioning and the fan in the room was very noisy. Bathroom is also very small.

I was a solo traveler for 2 nights in Nantes. The hotel is located in a safe and quiet street and yet very convenient to the center. The room I had was on the top floor and I could see the moon from the window on the roof which was cool. The room is open plan without doors so it is suitable for a single use. What they offered for breakfast was amazing but the stuff working in the hotel were even better. They are all so friendly and caring. I will be back!

So pleased that I chose Hotel Voltaire Opera...
Everything was delightful- quiet side street, gracious and helpful staff, perfect modern bathroom (with shelf space for my toiletries!), cozy and clean room and a location right in the center of everything I wanted to visit. Before dinner I'd sit in the nearby park and soak in the flowers, people and the language. Thank you to the staff and your lovely hotel for my perfect French experience.

Lovely old building right in the middle of town. Easy to park nearby. Traditional ambiance but totally clean refurbished and up to date. Superb breakfast, lovely staff.

Nice stay. Next to Place de l’Opera and Place Royale. With the Windows closed , the city noises disapeared. Good hotel for a city trip.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. They staff were very helpful and had good recommendations for restaurants and parking. We had a triple room which was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast was good. We will certainly stay here again.

2 days in Nantes en route along the Loire
Very warm welcome at this hotel from a kindly lady on reception. Very helpful and informative, gave a map of Nantes and annotated it for all the sights, also gave us a great local guidebook. Hotel was clean and comfortable on a quiet road only a stone's throw from one of the main squares. Lots of bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. No hotel parking so we're advised to use the Parking Médiathèque just 3 mins on foot around the corner but were able to unload our bags at the front door and check in before moving the car. Really good hotel and great location for central Nantes. Nantes is a really cool city with lots going on and lots of art installations across the city, well worth a vist... Simply follow the green line!

From the outsode lools lile a mini version of the Bristol in Paris with beautiful red flowers. Good 3* hotel located in the centre city of Nantes 2 mins from Place Graslin (shopping area/ la Cigale restaurant). Pleasant English speaking front of house welcome. Room was clean, especially bathroom,but no air conditioning so room got quite warm. Could redo paint as cracking was obvious. Wallpaper was decent. Thin walls and no double glazing (woken up by someone outside of hotel screaming around 6am). Breakfast was homemade for the most part with fresh juices !!! Non continental,very French but no croissants ... Friendly check out at 11am.

Perfect location! Right next to the opera house. They made our 3 years old very welcome, and he enjoyed our stay as much as there amazing freshly baked pain au chocolate. The family room was perfect for our two night stay this week. We will stay again if ever in Nates.
