Disappointing
The carpet in the room was not very clean to the point that I felt uncomfortable walking around with bare feet. The bed was very hard and didn't have a topper. Good location, but public transport in Nanjing is very good, so I would consider staying elsewhere in future. Breakfast was ok but there were only few Western choices. As Novotel is a French brand I hoped for a decent quality Croissant, but unfortunately they were small, stale and inedible

I have issues with this hotel, although our stay is comfortable. My card was charged for a ¥990 transaction which I have no idea what it was. It wasn't the deposit of ¥1200 which was refunded to my card. This transaction was actually billed! I went to their official website to email for a billing invoice but the email address listed: novotel@novotel-nanjing-central.com was an invalid email address that bounced back. I resorted to messaging them via Expedia but there was no response. I have no idea what I can do to refute or to clarify these billing, leaving me with no choice but to pay for them. Horrible experience with this hotel billing!

The hotel locates in CBD of Nanjing. The room size is comfortable for two guests. The room conditions are aged. The carpet is stained. The faucet leaks.

Staff at check in was warm and friendly. However, room condition was poor. The aircon broke down on the 2nd day and since we were checking out the next day, staff did not bother to offer us to change room. The technician eventually brought a fan into the room for ventilation. The window opening was not big so ventilation was minimal. It was a warm and stuff night to sleep through.

Location near metro station and is right in downtown and across from Walmart. Staff can speak English. Thanks to Tina at reception who assisted us and recommended a good restaurant for Nanjing food. Good variety at breakfast buffet. Would recommend this hotel.

Great location could use some updates
The hotel is in a great location with metro a 5 minute walk, with plenty of restaurants and shops all around the neighborhood. The hotel offers a good breakfast buffet with great hours to serve the business and leisure guest. Downside: uncomfortable/lumpy bed and some mod in the shower. Staff are very helpful

An excellent hotel to stay in Nanjing
The hotel location is superb, right in the city centre. Walking distance to everywhere. Friendly staff who speaks excellent English. The buffet breakfast is delicious with very good Western and Chinese food

Property was located much further from the MRT than it appeared from the reviews - it is between two MRT stations but is at least a good 10 mins walk away from either. The room was in good condition and cleanliness was satisfactory. We were next to the service entrance and constantly heard door banging at most hours.

This is my 2nd time staying with this hotel for the same reason as last time. Good location. In the center of Nanjing. Restaurant, grocery store and subway all close by. Room is clean and quite.

Upscale hotel in a great location.

A great surprise
This hotel surpassed our expectations. It was convenient, well appointed and centrally located to the metro. The staff was excellent, worked hard to ensure that we had everything we needed during our stay.

We got a complimentary upgrade to the Premier Room on the 19th floor. The room was large and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was clean and came with an electronic bidet. The hotel is also centrally located — just a short walk from Xinjiekou Station. Would stay again!

Too noisy to sleep. We have requested for a quiet room. However, they overlooked. This is the most basic for any hotel. The room is small for the fee you paid.

Quick check in. Nice cosy room and bed. Friendly staff and hotel provides temporary luggage storage. Hotel is near to subway station line 1 & 2 within walking limits of 10 minutes. Many good food options around the hotel.

This is a great hotel in a great location. Check in staff where very helpful, friendly and very efficient. Their level of English was very high. We really appreciated the upgrade. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Excellent location, reception and concierge
The hotel’s air conditioning system provides fresh air service during our stay which perplexed us as the room’s temperature was between 28-33 degree (Celsius) each time we got in the room; it was so stuffy that we had to request for air cooler machine and opened the window! While the reception services were excellent, the hotel restaurant where we had our buffet dinner was just the opposite. The waiter and waitress walked past our table 3 times without clearing the used plates. We had a small steamboat on our table and when I requested it to be removed, the waiter just came and removed the candles section leaving the steamboat stand and dirty utensils on our table ! The restaurant was not busy at all! The captain was on his hand phone..... It’s really not worth paying 99 yuan per pax for that kind of dinner n service. That probably explained why the restaurant had less than 8 tables of customers that night ?

Everyone at the hotel between check in and check out was very friendly and accommodating. As we had to leave early, before their continental breakfast is normally served the staff had put it in to go bags for us. They also called our prearranged taxi for us back to the airport.

Good modern equipment in the hotel and room. Location is is good with may shopping and eateries. Can keep a basket below sink to throw used towels.

Direction to Hotel from airport. Take train S1 to Railway South Station. Fare is only RMB7. Change to Line1 at South Railway Station to Xinjiakuo Station. Make a 10-15min walk to exit 14 and once on road surface look opposite should see Novotel. Novotel is very middle of shopping mall, therefore shopping and places to eat. Check-In counter is very efficient and staffs are very friendly. Everything you would expect from an international hotel branch. One minor issue is TV remote control was not function properly. It only worked if it was hold near to the TV . And in the morning it get a little noisy as it face the main road. Other than that i would recommend staying in Novotel.
