It's about 8 min walk to Yubatake (aka the center Kusatsu tourist area). My friends and I were welcomed warmly, quickly given recommendations in and around Kusatsu, and even provided a complimentary sweet milk, traditionally consumed after an onsen soak. The facility was very much a labor of love. The private onsens were clean, convenient, and absolutely rejuvenating. The public areas were intimate, clean, and provided retro video games and board games. We were even offered complimentary coffee at a coffee shop close to the coin laundry facility (Melbourne Coffee), which we unfortunately did not have the opportunity to use. This was one of the most unique (in a good way) properties that I stayed at. The room was spotless, and in the traitional Japanese style. It was very large and had a mini SNES with large TV. The window blinds were of the traditional so I woke up early. There is a game room with some retro games as well as a massage chair. What I liked the most about this property is that there are three semi-private onsens that can be used. They are public baths that have a locking door.
