Aug 4, 2024 Liked: Check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Convenient Location w/ Drawbacks Our original rental was canceled three days before we were supposed to come to the Outer Banks. So we are super thankful that we were able to find an affordable, oceanside unit that met all of our basic needs on short notice. However nice this unit was being oceanfront, within walking distance to Jockey Ridge and local to many fine amenities it came with several problems. Fortunately the rental agency was responsive and tended to our every need. First, there was an ant-infestation because one of the rooms wasn’t cleaned well enough. The rental agency tended to it and resolved it swiftly. Second, we loved that the unit had 2 baths, but one of the showers was clogged. The rental agency did tend to it quickly and fixed it. Third, it rained during our stay and we took on a lot of water inside the unit. Thankfully, the rental agency came during the downpour and brought us towels from both the agency and some of the on-call attendant’s personal towel stash, so we could hold back the rain. It helped and it worked. We are grateful for that. Fourth, about five days into our vacation the air conditioning died. Fifth, our last night, the palmetto bugs found their way to the kitchen and our bedroom. We know staying in a ground floor unit at the beach comes with its drawbacks (I.e.: bugs), but after everything else, this was the icing on the cake. We were done and ready to go.
