Reviewer Comments: Was really surprised with the upgrades performed on the house. Really cleaned things up. The no-key deadbolt was a nice add, but I missed not having access to the garage. I previously kept my car hitch tray and the large totes in there for security. Also, I had used a shovel that was in the garage to clean sand off of the drive and made it easier to get to the outside shower. The outside shower is nearly out of the question as it is now. We had brought along some movie DVDs, but no DVD player. Another change that needs to be made, there is no ocean view as depicted. We hit a few of our favorite dining spots, but mostly ate inside. A couple are Great Gut Deli in Wanchese and Salt Box Cafe back on Colington Rd in KDH. We also did some walking at the Nags Head Woods Preserve, which was very nice, except for the Deer flies. My wife did pick up a nasty splinter on the deck area, This should go to a Trex-like material for safety and longevity. ##### John C. It’s old and nothing is really updated but it was clean and easy walk to the beach. Carolina shores has some of the best guest services you can ask for. They explain everything at the key pickup. I would bring a pan to cook in but otherwise you need nothing. We made this a favorite for future visits. Don’t hesitate booking this one. It’s worth it. ##### Travis B. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cottage was clean and comfortable plus it is only steps to beach. Typical beach box with enclosed porch and open deck.Kitchen utensils were somewhat lacking.Outside shower was not accesible because of high sand in front of access. Use of that shower would help prevent sand from getting inside.Overall it was a good experience. Had a problem with lock but it was our misunderstanding of code. OBX gave us all the early Fall weather & the house kept us cozy and comfortable. This isn't a swank place, but if you're looking for an old-fashioned OBX cottage experience, this is it. There was only 1 frying pan and 1 or 2 pots to cook in. The dishes and organization of utensils were not good. The deck and outside amenity of a shower was not usable due to landscaping. Also it says you have ocean views but you cannot see over the dunes. It is a very short walk to the beach from the house so it was not a big deal to us. The house is in need of some TLC. It used to be semi-OF but should now be just oceanside. Ever since they built up the dunes you can no longer see the ocean. The house itself is not well kept. The deck is a hazard.But for me it works perfectly. Close to the beach on a very quiet street. I can bring my dog. ##### A guest from Germantown, MD ### 2/10 Terrible #### CIndy K., Quakertown PA Aug 30, 2022 Liked: Check-in, communication, location Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy #### We took the bait, Pennsylvania Pete We arrived August 13th,, The pictures we reviewed online Certainly did not show the property in its present condition, Hand railing is loose and very splintery , Sand has Encroached the property That you are unable to safely utilize the outside shower, Stepping in-and-out of the house with such a tall step makes it very unsafe ,, The master bedroom Had stained sheets we were glad we had Brought all our own bedding, Kitchen amenities could be much better, The air conditioning Filter Was so clogged With dust and debris that a maintenance person had to come and replace it, I certainly cannot figure out some of the other reviews I read online before coming to this home for the 1st time at nag's head outer banks,, No ocean view untill you walk to the beach, The property is crying for help,,, The bottom line is the owner of the property it's just cashing in and not reinvesting,, Next year I will have the agent take up to date pictures before We Reserve a home,,, ##### CIndy K.
