Went hiking on the Nakasendo Trail. Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, as it is one of the closest and best hotels in the vicinity. Overall, it was a good experience. Staff were courteous, as usual, with the Japanese hospitality. The room is clean, but a bit tired. Could do with a renovation. Buffet is good, a wide spread of food and drinks, and the quality is good. Service staff are friendly and extremely hardworking. Except you get the same Breakfast and Dinner menu every day. I think they don't expect anyone to stay beyond 1 day. It was somewhat remote via train but once there the charm and natural beauty of the area made it all worthwhile. Our room was a suite in traditional Japanese style. It was immaculate with many amenities. The buffet breakfast and dinners were of excellent quality and variety. We can highly recommend the hotel and its most helpful staff. The free shuttle to the station made our departure carefree.
