It requires half-board, and continues to serve its meals indoors, via a buffet. Yes, they include disinfectant at the tables and provide people with plastic hand-coverings, but numerous studies show this is not enough and buffets are some of the most dangerous venues to contract COVID. They denied my request to eat meals in my room. In addition, the hotel does not adequately enforce mask usage -- many guests wear their masks below their nose and, in the ski locker room, are entirely maskless. The hotel is great and has a lot of space, theirs a lot to do in the hotel also besides being outside in the snow. The onsen and massage is great also and add the breakfast and dinner to your stay, you won’t regret it! It’s very peaceful and relaxing and we enjoy coming here. It is also unique and nice inside the hotel plus the onsen is great. My room was a bit dingy and dated, but seemed clean. Downside is that it a bus ride away from literally any other biz or hotel, so you are limited to the hotel for food or whatever else you need. The room had two single beds, and space for three futon with a max capacity of 5 persons. However, it was a perfect roomy space for my friend and I. Room was very clean, with a great view of the slope. It was a lot of fun to sit on the windowsill and watch the snow plows. The room had an assortment of glassware/cups and comes with a fridge, which is useful because there isn't much around the hotel itself to eat. Restaurant- nice buffet style dinner and breakfast (7-9am) . Be wary that breakfast time can be a bit busy/crowded if you come around 8am. Both meal times offered a good variety of western and Japanese food and was delightful. The beef stew was especially awesome. There is no notice on their site stating no tattoos allowed in the onsen (also boasts a great view of the ski slopes), but there was a sign posted outside the onsen itself. I disregarded it, as there were only Chinese in the baths and no one seemed to mind. It's a nice onsen, excluding that no tattoo sign. Staff are very kind, and when we were there, there were staff speaking Japanese, English, and Chinese. Tamura-san was very prompt with email replies.
