The space

Welcome to Coastgrove Cottage! This charming coastal modern getaway along the Grand Strand welcomes visitors to explore all the best the South Carolina coast can offer. Sand and surf lovers, golfing enthusiasts and those seeking a tranquil space to wind down will all enjoy the central location of this home in family-friendly Surfside Beach.

In one of the most popular tourist regions in America, this fully appointed residence offers the perfect home-base to experience world famous attractions, outdoor recreational activities, an expansive food scene and some of the best beaches and golf courses (both professional and mini) in the country, all while enjoying some of the idyllic settings along the Eastern seaboard.

PARKING: Driveway for 2 vehicles and street parking for 1 vehicle (garage is not accessible to guests)

Other things to note

Our home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. Please be respectful of our community and neighbors. Parties, events, or large gatherings are strictly prohibited. In addition, excessive noise at any time is never allowed and quiet hours are in place every day between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

The location of our home affords close proximity to all conveniences and amenities. While it is not beachfront, it is just a short drive to the beach.

​The sleeping arrangements at our home can accommodate up to 8 guests with a queen bed in the primary bedroom, 2 full beds in one guest bedroom, and a queen bed in the other guest bedroom.

We welcome responsible and responsive guests over the age of 21. Any and all persons staying or visiting the property must be 18 years of age or older unless accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian.

A copy of the guest's government issued ID must be shared with the host upon a confirmed reservation. This is for safety and security purposes and is strictly required in order to stay at our home.

Pets allowed with restrictions and additional fees (please see house rules).

If a guest cancels a reservation, all eligible refunds will be governed by the cancellation policy agreed upon at time of booking. No refunds outside of the cancellation policy will be possible unless a mandatory evacuation is ordered for the area. Thus, it is highly recommended that all guests purchase trip cancellation/interruption insurance. In the event that a guest cannot make a trip due to a family emergency, illness, bad weather, flight/rental car cancellation, job loss, COVID-19 ban/restriction, etc., the guest should seek reimbursement through their travel insurance.

Mother Nature’s creatures both great and small also reside in the area in which our home is situated. Specifically, the occurrence of "palmetto bugs" are very common throughout all homes in the Grand Strand/Myrtle Beach area. Understanding how disconcerting it may be for our guests to find these critters in our home, please know that we hold a high standard for cleanliness and take all efforts to try to keep Mother Nature's creatures at bay. We subscribe to regularly scheduled pest control services so our guests can have an enjoyable stay. Despite measures we have taken to keep the home free of such events, it is not uncommon to have a stray visitor come into the house through an open door or window even if left ajar for a brief moment. While we cannot be held responsible for encounters with pests or wildlife inside or outside the home, if notified immediately of such an occurrence, arrangements can be made to accordingly try to address the issue. No refunds will be offered for these encounters.

Property has 4 motion-activated exterior security cameras (1 each at front and rear doors and 1 each at front and back yard areas) that record sound and video 24/7 and decibel monitoring sensors inside and outside of the home to ensure neighborhood noise levels are respected. Tampering/removing equipment will result in a minimum fine of $300.

House rules

Please be respectful of our home, neighborhood, and community. Violation of any of the following rules are grounds for cancellation of your stay and immediate removal from the property:
- 8 guest maximum occupancy; no unauthorized guests (penalty fee of $100 per unauthorized person, per night will apply).
- No smoking or vaping.
- No parties, events, or large gatherings.
- No excessive noise; quiet hours in place between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.
- No underage drinking or use of illegal substances.
- Copy of a government issued ID must be shared with the Host upon confirmed reservation.
- Any loss or damage to real or personal property of a Host caused by the fault, negligence or intentional misconduct of a Guest (and any of their guests or pets) shall be charged to and paid for by the Guest.

Responsible guests and their well-mannered furry companion are welcome to our home, for whom the following pet policy applies:
- Only 1 dog weighing 50 pounds or less is permitted unless agreed upon in advance with the Host. No other pets or animals allowed (e.g., cats, birds, etc.), and a penalty fee of $100 per unauthorized animal, per night will apply.
- An additional one-time pet fee of $100 (before fees and taxes) per stay will apply.
- The dog must remain within the owner’s control at all times, either on a leash or in a carrier as appropriate.
- The dog must never be left alone on the property. However, for only short periods of time when it is not possible for the owner to take the dog with them where they go, then the dog can be crated or confined to a specific area in the home.
- We expect the dog to be completely house trained. Please clean up after the pet.
- The dog is not allowed on the furniture/beds.
- We count on the owner to prevent the dog from making excessive noise, being disruptive, or exhibiting aggression toward other guests or neighbors.
- In the unlikely event the property requires additional cleaning (e.g., fur/hair, potty, etc.) or if damages are incurred as a result of the dog, you will be charged additional fees starting at a minimum of $300 for services and repairs.

A guest manual with detailed guidance and helpful information will be made available at time of booking.

Ben and Michael were some of the best hosts I have ever dealt with! They stayed in touch during our entire stay. This home is in a great location with easy access to shops and the beach! It is very spacious and has everything you need to accommodate your stay. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely contact Ben and Michael again in the future when we are looking to stay in the Surfside area again!

For our first family visit to Coastgrove, we were absolutely delighted with our stay. Had a wonderful week visiting with longtime college pal and family who also came into the area. Home had everything we needed. Kitchen was a plus with all of the dishes, cookware and utensils -- more than enough for our family of three plus our visiting family of four. Location was great, attractions were all within 20min which was a plus. Whether we wanted to just relax on the shore, hit a few golf balls, mini golf for the kiddos or cast a rod off a pier, the property served as home away from home for a much needed respite. We especially enjoy the local art gallery and having a conversation with a local artist. That was the highlight of our trip, especially for our aspiring artist kid. Thanks too to our gracious hosts who were communicative every step, every need. We will be sure to return.

Ben & Michael are great host.! They responded to me right away with any questions and were very detailed with instructions and the little things we needed to know to make our stay welcoming and easy. I got engaged the night before New Years Eve so my fiancé came to the cottage with us. When I told them the situation they congratulated me and immediately updated my booking information. One of the main reasons why I chose to return to Coastgrove Cottage is because of easy access to a variety of grocery stores. Walmart and Piggly Wiggly are close by. We also found Amorosa rolls at Aldi's (my hubby is from Philly - iykyk). Another huge plus is a new Asian grocery/eatery that just opened up nearby, Fudi Mart. It passed my test - it carried lumpia wrappers, ube ice cream (even one with keso), and at least two types of bagoong! Finally, the house is close to Murrell's Inlet where we have our favorite fishery, Murrells Inlet Seafood. Having access to such a variety of food made for a tasty vacation!

This is our second stay at Coastgrove Cottage. We decided to stay here again because the space is perfect for our family that includes a teen and a college student. This house allowed us all to have personal space, but also comfortable areas to gather for meals, movies and family games. We look forward to our next family vacation here!

Cottage was as pictured. Nice piece of property in a quiet neighborhood. Tenants before us must have broken a few things. We fixed a few things because we would want someone to do that for us. Also replaced batteries for the gate clicker. All in all, we loved the area, they allowed our dog which was a big plus. Neighbors loved her! Ended our stay with a feast at Crabby Mikes. Best She-crab soup I've had in my life & then the rest of our party tried it and said the same! Would definitely rent from them again.
