However, a rare king tide and huge storm moved through and we weren’t able to enjoy the beach except for one day. This couldn’t be helped but it was disappointing. The variety of indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs were great. Most of the staff was friendly, especially the daytime staff at the front desk. The room wasn’t the cleanest and smelled musty upon entering. I did immediately respond to a text asking about cleanliness but never heard anything. I even ordered damp rid to keep in the room because it was that noticeable. The handles on the furniture were rusted from moisture. The ice maker didn’t work in the fridge and we didn’t have skillets. We did call for a lightbulb and someone to check the fridge. They came right up to check it. They didn’t replace the bulb in the fridge. I requested a skillet from the front desk and it never came. The overall cleanliness of the hallways, ice machines, etc was questionable. Everything is out in the open air in the weather. Also, while laundry is available, the machines are 1.50 to wash and 1.50 to dry and they are rusted. I even told my family not to eat the ice, just to use it to keep food cold in the cooler. The front lobby was clean as well as the restaurant. The pools and hot tubs were well maintained as well. The pet deposit was a bit high as well. There were many large dogs even though the rules stated no bigger than 20 pounds.
