Heavenly Retreat!
I stayed here for two weeks this past July and loved every single blissful moment. The cottage was the perfect size for myself and my brother and his wife. 3 bedrooms . One of them being a loft bedroom. Great for kids if you come stay. Very clean and super comfortable. The beds were amazingly comfy. The cottage is right on the water and the view was unbelievable. I paddled every morning and then ventured into the town of Bala or the other towns which were very close by. Steve was an amazing host. He made sure I had everything I needed. LOVE LOVE LOVE this COTTAGE!

The most relaxing honeymoon
Steve was awesome and very accommodating. It was my husband and I’s honeymoon and we were greeted with flowers and champagne to kick off our amazing week. The beds, and bathroom were super clean, and comfortable. Would totally recommend this location to any couple or family whose looking for a week of relaxation and amazing views.

Wonderful stay
Our stay was fantastic. The space is very well utilized. The kitchen is not large but very well equipped and highly functional. The unit was spotless clean. The internet was strong by normal standards; by cottage standards it was amazing. No issue with parking. Dock was great to swim off of; use of kayak and paddle board a real plus. Deck and balconies and picnic tables were fantastic with lots of space for a group. Amazing sunrises and sunsets. Steve is very kind and thoughtful. The place has a lot of character, in a good way. We would love to stay here again.

On the water paradise
We stayed a week in this beautiful cottage. Small but perfect! great location over the water. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The owner is very reliable and friendly. We will stay again

Great Family Vacation
Very cool experience staying “on the water”. The kids loved the “Loft Room”. Great how all doors have screens so the breeze could come through. Deep water off the dock for swimming. Steve was a great host who ensured we had everything we needed. Would love to return next year!

Family fun at comfortable and convenient boathouse.
Our family of five just spent a glorious 12 days at Stephen's Boathouse. The property and its location exceeded our expectations. From the deck of the boathouse we had great views of the sunrise in the early morning and the sunsets in the evening. At night, we sat on the deck and admired the starlit sky. During the heat of the day we could choose to sit in the full sun or sit in a shaded spot on the deck. From the upper deck we could watch our children swim and play in the water below. In our kids' words, "It was super fun jumping off the dock and swimming in the deep water!". We brought some pool noodles and kayaks, and Stephen kindly loaned us a sit-on kayak and a paddle board, which added to the water entertainment and allowed us to explore the area by water. The boathouse is just a short drive from Bala where we picked up groceries at the FreshMart and baked goods from Don's Bakery. On our rainy day, we took a drive to Port Carling for a change of scenery. We also enjoyed taking walks in the neighbouring cottage area. The boathouse itself was well-equipped and had everything we needed. We used the Weber BBQ to prep dinner almost every night. There were two fridges that allowed space for food and lots of cold drinks. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were of high quality. Cross-breezes came through the boathouse and provided a very pleasant temperature for sleeping. Each room had a fan as well. On a very hot and humid night we used the air conditioner to cool off - but only needed it the one time. The internet and satellite TV offered alternative sources of entertainment - a must with teenagers! Stephen was a great host and made us feel very welcome. He was friendly and easy to communicate with throughout the whole process. We would love to return to Stephen's Boathouse, and highly recommend this property to those looking for a comfortable and beautifully located rental in the Muskokas!

Kevin, Sarah and their three boys were a delight to have as guests. They enjoyed the visit as it was meant to be. They respected the property and guidelines and I was very happy to have them at the boathouse. I hope they return, but if they are guests anywhere else they are an excellent example of a appreciating family and should be welcomed wherever they visit. Just what I was looking for
My husband, grown children and I had a very relaxing stay at the boathouse. It was exactly as represented; well laid out and equipped with everything we needed. The owner provided all the necessary information for us to make ourselves comfortable, and was very attentive. We certainly did not want to leave!

Perfect Location!
Spent a week up during end of August and it was an absolute pleasure. Very relaxing and private area close to Bala and Gravenhurst. Definitely will re-book in 2019.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful haven on the lake.
If you are looking for a peaceful, clean and cozy place to stay on Lake Muskoka, this place is a find. We stayed for a week and enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets on the deck and slept to the gentle sounds of the lake outside our windows. The cottage was clean and private with amazing views of the lake. The host was more than helpful with any of our needs allowing us to use his kayaks and paddle board on the lake and we would definitely come back and stay again!
