Budget Hotel

Posted 2-Sep-2017
Pros: Friendly staff, great central location, and good value for money.
Cons: I wake up thirsty, so tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice.
Location: On a main road with tram stops a few steps away. A short walk away from bars, restaurants, a Bull Dog (if you're in to that sort of thing) .
Our first impression on arrival was how friendly and helpful the staff were. Our room was very small but had a nice little on-suite shower room and was fine for what we needed. When in Amsterdam you do not spend all day in your room. All we needed was a clan and comfortable place to rest our heads at the end of the day, and this room was fine for that. Breakfast was good but tended to get busy at the peak time. We had no trouble getting a table at 9am but those that came down a bit later had to wait a few minutes. That happens even in larger, more expensive hotels, so it was no surprise. One word of caution: The hotel is across the street from a lively (and friendly) bar that stays open until about 3am, which is great for those of us who want to have a good time, but it does mean noise at night. You might want to ask for a room at the rear of the hotel if you are bothered by noise.

Nice budget hotel for short stay in Amsterdam

Staff are very helpful even with information on how to get around the city for first time visitors. There is good security. Easy access to bus and tram. Room was quite small but very clean and cosy.

Leidseplein/Museum Quarter Hotel

Posted 3-Jul-2017
Location: easy walk to restaurants at Leidseplein, and the trams there. short walk to the museum quarter. pleasant walk along the canals to rest of city.
a well maintained, quiet hotel just off Leidseplein. Very easy access to Rijksmuesum/Vondel Park, etc. Very small room, but that's par for the course in that part of amsterdam.

Nice Staff, Decent Location, Stuff, Small Room

Lovely staff, nice hotel. Room was small with no air conditioning & poor air circulation, so it was quite warm especially during the day (early June).

Great Location, clean and comfortable!

Check in was great, they guy was super nice and brought our bags downstairs - if you are on the bottom floor, you need to take the stairs. We were asked to switch rooms just prior to check-in, so we were given the breakfast as a "thank you". The beds were really comfortable, and the room for four was small, but we really just needed room to sleep (4 single beds), and we had room for all four large bags. Great location! Close to the leidesplein and nightlife! We got a great price by booking last minute on Hotels.com, and we actually had to make a change to add an additional person - hotels.com made this so easy!
