Terrible hotel to stay.
Worst hotel ive been in Oman. Toilet doesnt flush. No water in the faucet. Room is old. The reception area is dim and not all lights are opened. When we checked the pool it looks dirty and not appealing as others come there for swimming lessons. The whole hotel looks really old and definitely needs to be renovated all of it. Never coming back there ever again. We paid for 2nights but since it is realy bad we stayed for 1night and left. Terrible terrible terrible!

no worse for the wear
The hotel seems getting old but rooms are in ok shape, the pool is nice and big, well maintained. The service here is a little lacksadaisacle.

Lovely hotel!
I had a really nice stay in this hotel. The hotel was clean and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Oman and it is fantastic value for money.

The Muscat Holiday is in a good location for accessing Oman's ministry offices. It has fairly good facilities including a pool, deck, and well-appointed fitness area. Food in the café was a bit expensive and average quality.

Has everything you need.
Been in this hotel several times before now and it's a central location for me. Easy to reach from Airport and close to the several places of business i need to visit. Food is good and they have the own bar. Excellent place for short stop over but can be used for longer trips too.

Ok stay for business.
Had to rebook hotel because 1st booking was mysteriously cancelled. Arrived at the hotel to be told l had only booked one night when in fact, l'd booked 2 nights...also changed room type because they no longer had that room available. The room type wasn't a problem but the noise from the "night club" below kept me awake till the early hours.

Nice hotel near eating and shopping area
Helpful staff giving suggestions for shopping , eating and sightseeing. Rooms good size and well appointed and room service etc good. Nice pool area though would be nice if they would let you know when the pool would be out of service.

Solo getaway with a baggage-load of work
A solo getaway but concentrated on trying to finish some work; it was just unfortunate that I didn't get to fully enjoy the facilities due to a meeting that needs attending to in the morning. Only grip would be there is no channel list for the cable. Network connection was very good. Near to almost everything convenient (weather now good for walking but not during the summer) i.e. food stores (Al-Khuwair Rd. strip) and malls (Avenues, MGM)

Definitely NOT a 4-star hotel
This hotel definitely is not a 4-star hotel. The best, a 3-star. The air-conditioning was not working right. I turned it to 30 degrees, and it's still freezing. The sink did not drain water. The room was not carpeted, the pillows were very uncomfortable and the amenities were minimal. I asked the hotel to recommend a private tour of Muscat with a good English speaking driver/guide. When I told him that the driver/guide could hardly speak English after the trip, the person behind the counter shrugged his shoulders and said nothing. No one greets you with a smile or warmth there.

Worst Hotel in Muscat
I have been traveling regularly to Muscat for the past few years and have stayed at nearly every hotel in Muscat and the Hotel Muscat Holiday is the worst. Where do I start: the bathroom was dirty, the toilet wasn't flushed, the TV and internet didn't work and the noise from the adjacent rooms was likes the walls were made of paper. After one night of disrupted sleep I asked the front desk to sort out the problems and to be honest they were useless forcing me to check into another hotel. There are much better hotels in Muscat at the same price level

Good hotel for a couple otr independent traveller
Good location in Al Khuwair, 10 mins from the beach and vibrant area of Al Qurm. The hotel is ageing now compared to the modern additions as it was previously the Holiday Inn. This shows in some of the decor. But the rooms are perfectly adequate and a good size for two persons or a business traveller. Best thing going for it is lits leisure facilities which are greeat. Tennis court with excellent friendly tennis coach, large swiming pool and baby pool + well-equipped gym. Also a good English pub + restaurant makes it sociable place to relax i nthe evenings.

Very Comfortable Indeed
The food was good in the buffet coffee shop. The lobby was decorated nicely for Christmas and we enjoyed the Christmas music. The room was well laid out and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. On the down side, there was no free internet and the prepaid cards were expensive. The location was not condusive to walking about and we had to haggle with taxi drivers over fares.

The hotel is very suitable for Buisness trip to Muscat as it has a good location close to ministries and Qabous City . The name of the hotel needs to be corrected to " Muscat Holiday resorts" and address should be Muscat - Al Khuwair .

Former Holiday Inn Hotel - older hotel but very clean and great location. This is my second stay because of the location and great service provided to me. And this is near the new Muscat Opera House - a theatre you must see to believe!!

Great staff and good location - excellent hotel with wine and fruit upon arrival. Taxi always close by at the hotel door. International guests - great breakfast buffet and nice bar with good drink selection - Muscat is in a non drinking/alcohol country with alcochol only available in hotels and it was nice to have a hotel with a bar and drinks available.

Love Muscat, Great Hotel
A great 3 (1/2)-star hotel that looks like it was part of one of the major global hotel brands, probably Holiday Inn. Fortunately, the tacky mid-70's (Holiday Inn) look has mostly, along with all logos and branding, been stripped away. What remains is a somewhat older looking but very clean, solid, very nice hotel with all the standard ammenities. For us, the rooms were perfect, very comfortable and clean. Only complaint: you can't open the windows in the rooms (defintiely American built) which is a real drag in winter in Muscat. The air was very clean, the hotel is only 2 miles (2+ km) from the coast but all windows are sealed shut. Rediculous. In summer there is extremely high humidtiy on the Arabian Gulf coast, but that's easily taken care of with the hotel's AC and smart ventilation. Great breakfast, very good gym with sauna, great staff, very decent pool. Would go back in a minute.
