Having been staying at this Inn for the past 8 years unfortunately I have to report thing have changed.This Inn used to be so special for a romantic fun time.Before COVID it was nice in the morning sitting having their wonderful small breakfast inc in room price meeting other guests. During COVID we stayed also a few times which breakfast was not served but explained that it will definitely return and understood.Returning 2 times over the past 2 years breakfast wasn`t included as well as prices increased. This week I returned and paid close to $200.00 for a standard room. Front desk ladies were very nice,room ok but no amenities except normal room soaps.Even coffee in there small library isn't even fresh.Nothing at all memorable or romantic. So sad a special inn next to great restaurants has nothing beyond a room to offer.There are many other nice hotels around wine country which makes their guest feel special like a glass of wine,breakfast rolls and at much less price., Won`t be returning.

I was greeted by Victoria, the owner, who could not have been more gracious and kind. I love this place there’s coffee and tea and brownies and cookies and various common areas. There’s a lovely restaurant which is a tenant the hotel right below. And it’s tucked into the beautiful town of Murphys, CA . A cozy & peaceful escape.

It was within just a few feet from a restaurant, bar, and shopping. Murphys is a a cute quaint town. The staff was friendly. Our room was upstairs. They had a downstairs little living area with games, microwave, etc. where you can sit down and play a game of chess, have a glass of wine, etc. We would stay there again.

We loved the location right in the heart of downtown Murphy's with wine tasting and restaurants in walking distance. The double-size jetted tub in room 7 is AMAZING. We also enjoyed having an outdoor patio area. Unfortunately, the complimentary breakfast service had not yet resumed due to covid restrictions. The Inn was very quiet and the bed very comfortable. I would love to stay again.

I really liked the convenience of being near the restaurants, wine tasting, shopping. The room is what I would expect of a Victorian era inn, with a small room and old style bath with clawfoot tub. It had a very small balcony with just enough room to enjoy coffee in the morning.

Comfortable Room in the Heart of Muphys
My daughter and I stayed two nights in the only room with two Queen beds. She hated that there wasn’t a TV in the room, but I found it to be a wonderful perk. The beds were on a platform that made them difficult for me to climb into (I’m only 5’0”), especially after a day of hiking in Yosemite. A step stool would be a nice addition. Very clean. Loved the town.

Decent hotel if staying in the area
We are staying at the Victoria Inn; so far it has been okay. The customer service is okay; the first person we saw was rude and didn’t greet us after 10 mins, the next person we met at check-in was very nice and helpful. The room itself looked clean at first, just needing obvious updates. The bathroom has cracks/damages on parts of the wall and door, plus an oddly stained chair sitting in there. My biggest complaint with the room: the broken thermostat. We woke up in the middle of the night to the thermostat set at 79 degrees on heat (it is very warm outside, by the way), we changed it and the room never got any cooler. Thankfully we brought a fan, otherwise I would not have been able to sleep. Altogether this hotel looks nicer than the other two in this area, that’s why we chose to stay here. However, I don’t think I’ll be back.

Thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear your stay was not the best. It was discovered via our camera system that a vindictive person thought it would be a joke to adjust all the room thermostat's to a higher temperature than they are programed to be at, causing the temperature in your room as well all the other rooms in the Inn to be above normal heat. This person has been identified and the issue addressed. I find it difficult to read you felt our desk staff was rude; they generally are very accommodating as best they can to all our guests; at times we do get a telephone call that the person on the other end has multiple questions or want for conversation which I can see could come off as rude. That is never our intention, be attempt to provide all our guests in person and on the phone our attention. We do hope you will find other accommodations more satisfying than what you describe as your stay with us if you choose to return to our little town of Murphys in the future.

Charming Inn, Worth Returning To
Very charming, with a European feel, as our bedroom was quite small but also very comfortable and clean, and easily big enough. We ate at the hotel bistro outside on the courtyard patio—good quality food. Staff was very helpful, answering all our questions about Murphys, as it was our first time there. Victoria Inn is located at the heart of Main Street—easy walk to 20 wine tasting venues, restaurants and cafès, and just a 20-25 minute drive to Big Tree State Park for great hikes among the giant Sequoia redwoods.

Very great place for a getaway. Beautiful, quaint place in the heart of Murphy's downtown. Perfect for walking around and grabbing a quick beer at the Irish Pub across the street.

In need of basic renovation of fixtures.
The vintage tub is very vintage. The enamel has worn through so the cast iron shows through. The toilet seat also was very old. Some basic renovation would be good. Also while there was coffee and tea, there was no breakfast as was depicted in pictures. Other places I’ve recently stayed at had brown bag breakfasts to be mindful of covid while still providing the level of service they used to have.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. We have recently contracted with a company to resurface the antique clawfoot tubs and are addressing that concern. We were unaware the on line booking agent was still stating we provided our complimentary breakfast, which we have not since Covid due to restrictions; this has since been corrected. We provide written information at check as well as notice in each room regarding our current restricted policies in place due to Covid and how we are addressing them as well as on our website and on the on line booking sites.

Perfection in the GoldCountry.
Perfection. Each of the 11 rooms are unique and beautifully designed. The beds are wonderful as are the linens. The hotel is in the center of a small fun town with everything walkable, great dining and shopping. We were greeted and shown all of the amenities and invited to use the parlor downstairs. Everything is Covid compliant, even the 24 hr pause between room occupancy. Loved it. Will be back for sure

Historic wine testing.
The room was very clean. A description of the cleaning was clipped to the door along with a description of there being a 24 hour window after a cleaning before the room would again be occupied. The bed was comfortable for two people. The chairs and tables were average but had the vintage look of a historic room. The size was just right. Bathroom very clean and also had the look of a 100+year old hotel. Our balcony looked over a courtyard restaurant, was pleasant. Just steps away from the historic downtown with numerous bars, restaurants and shops. Lots of wine testing!

Location was perfect. Continental breakfast better than expected. The only downside is when booking their rooms on line the descriptions are pretty much the same so when you see the price differences it is not clear why when the rooms are listed as having the same features. There are rooms that are obviously different but several are listed the same.

I stayed here because I needed a Tesla Charger. Other than that I hate the fact their is no TV and I think my room is over a work shop or something because I kept hearing banging out doors all night.

I am sorry to ready you did not care for our Inn. Most find it charming not to have TV, but it is not to everyone's taste. I do apologize for what sounds like outside noise during your stay. We are located in the center of town, and surrounded by businesses and 3 restaurant & bars. Being that town is all within walking distance, most find it a great place to stay and not risk drinking and driving. Just information wise, we do offer the Tesla charger to non-guests for a nominal fee, should you have a need for it in the future.

The Skyview room that we had was too small and the balcony overlooked a roof with no view. Everything else was lovely and our friends' room was beautiful - they had a much bigger room. Orbitz overcharged us by $30.00 from what the room cost and refused to refund me even though I have a receipt of what the room cost.

Yes, Skyview is one of our smaller rooms, I do see we were fairly booked during the night of your stay and we could have possibly accommodated you with different room with a direct booking. Once a guest books utilizing a online booking agent, us as Innkeepers hands are a bit tied. We do hope you will stay with us again in the near future and contact us directly so we can discuss the options available. So sorry to hear you had issues booking thru an online agent.

Great central location just off Main St, withing walking distance to all of the local restaurants, shops and entertainment. It's an old, refurbished structure. It has that old west ambience. The room was in a quiet location towards the rear. No noise that I could hear. It is above a restaurant, but no odors or other negative effects noted. The clawfoot tub was worn and the cast iron at the bottom showed through the porcelain, but the room was immaculate.

There were some problems with the heating system that made for a not-so-restful sleep. Worth noting that the person I called offered to send someone to fix it, but it was Christmas night, and apparently a long drive, and I told them not to worry about it. Now that they are aware of it the problem, I feel positive they'll remedy the situation, and otherwise our stay was very pleasant and comfortable, and we felt very welcomed by the staff.

The location is great and the breakfast tasty. But the mattress was so hard it hurt, and the walls between our room and the next room so thin we could hear our neighbors talking, coughing, etc. (in the middle of the night!). It was almost as if they were in our room with us.

I am so very sorry to hear you did not sleep well during your visit. If you can provide me with information regarding the room I will be happy to address the comfort issue of the bed and hope to correct it.
