We chose this hotel because there were none available closer to central Munich during Oktoberfest. It turned out to be a great location, as it was quiet, close to public transport, and walkable to restaurants and grocery stores. The room was good, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast was very nice. We stayed two nights and would again if we’re back in Munich.

The property was in a good location with supermarkets nearby. You can easily reach the public transportation. The room was comfortable except the beds were a bit hard and uncomfortable for our taste. The pillows were also very uncomfortable. The parking in the parking garage was safe and plentiful. We would stay again in this hotel when the opportunity rises.

Room was nice and clean, spacious and updated. We stayed in a suite so I can’t speak for other rooms. Location was a bit further from the train than we had thought, however still easy enough to navigate. Staff could do with extra training as they were slow to handle and check in.

I stayed at The Rilano for 2 nights for a work trip. The hotel staff were friendly and informative. Certain parts of the hotel looked like they were being renovated, but nothing was closed, or unclean. There was a lack of signage to point me to the room. The WiFi on my floor was unreliable, but fine down in the lobby and restaurant. The room was compact, but had everything I needed. The bed was fine, but it was two single mattresses pushed together and I did feel myself slip down between them at one point.

Could Improve Overall

I don’t want to leave a whining and whinging review so I’ll just explain my experience as a matter of fact. I arrived late in the evening to check in. The queue was long with only one member of staff available to facilitate check-in. I was initially given a room that wasn’t even cleaned. It was left dirty after the previous guest. I went back to reception and rejoined the long queue. I was then given a new room which initially looked better. I later realised the towels were stained, the bath soap dispenser was empty, and the coffee kettle wasn’t working. The coffee cups were also stained so I chose not to use them. I went to the hotel restaurant the next morning and requested a coffee, politely saying that the kettle in the room wasn’t working. This request was met with resistance. I was offered a coffee in the end, but it seemed more like I was being done a favour. All told, I feel the hotel could improve on many levels around attention to detail, cleanliness, politeness, and organisation. My room had a very nice view from the window though. That was good I must add.

The room was very clean, except the kettle... there was material inside. Also would have been nice to have exrra bedding in the room. I was MOST disappointed that the gym was not on site. We arrived and only then found out that there was no gym in the hotel, but the fitness center nearby. We'd prefer to not have to travel for this.
