The list of amenities for AK says they have a restaurant (they don't) and English breakfast is available for a surcharge (when I enquired they offered only to get takeaway from a nearby Indian restaurant). The room was basic to say the least. The little cafe on the side was quite cluttered and there seemed to be people hanging about. It was fine. Got up to our room and we were pretty shocked. The pictures online make them look a lot bigger than they are in person. We dealt with it. Went outside and noticed a couple of rats (which is fine being in a city) what we did not expect is the rats to be scurrying in the walls and ceilings which sounded like they were coming through. We told the staff and a member of the hotel staff heard and proceeded to bang on the room wall and say “there you go all gone” we had to sleep with the light on from that point. It was difficult with the language barrier at first (which is fine) but we knew we could not stay there and left the next day. When you walk in the smell is unbearable! However, just throw out the air freshener balls that they put in the bathroom and all is good! The bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was good air con and a ceiling fan. The room felt a little ‘damp’ sometimes but a blast of the aircon sorted this out. Also, the room was very dusty, eg on top of all the tables and light switches. This didn’t affect us but would be a nice touch if they cared a little more perhaps. There was quite a bit of noise from the reception area, when the staff sit watching the tv it would be an idea to turn it down a notch!
