This hotel was small and charming, with a friendly and helpful staff. Read your paperwork from Expedia thoroughly, because unlike the other hotels we booked in Europe, this one collects all of the money on site when you check out. No big deal, just might be a surprise if you planned things a long time ago and thought Expedia had already run your card. Go for one of the rooms that overlooks the mountains, because it really is close and beautiful. We went when it was a sleepy time of year; the street-side windows might be less ideal if it was bustling and noisy in town.
We had a wonderful visit to the Hotel Eiger. The staff are incredibly friendly as previous reviewers have mentioned. We felt right at home immediately. We only stayed two nights, but could have stayed longer. For a smaller town, there are a lot of things to do in Murren. We were lucky that one of the nights of our visit was Raclette night in the Hotel Eiger's restaurant. We will definitely be back to Hotel Eiger if we have a chance to return to Murren.
