Had we known the experience that was about to befall us before checking in an hour early, we wouldn't have bothered.
We weren't given a check-out time and had read online it was midday. Turns out, it was 11:00.
When we got to our room we found the temperature to be that of the faulty reactors at Chernobyl. I can only assume they had left the heating on for about a decade to get it that hot. We had to leave the window open as a storm blew in just to cool down.
I have never been to prison, but I can only assume the showers they have aren't actually allowed to be as bad as the shower in the room. A 4* hotel this is not.
We were advised to go to the restaurant, rather than the grill for dinner. We took up our table and were then ignored, with several other tables around us (who arrived after us) getting water for their table and their drinks order taken. We waited for around 15 minutes before deciding, frankly, it wasn't worth the time. A similar thing happened at breakfast the following morning.
So, we went to the grill, all was well until dessert, when the waitress asked "what is this?" when handing us our desserts.
We also ordered and orange juice and lemonade, which came in two separate glasses. That just about sums it up.
The pool water is tepid, there was no water in the bucket for the sauna and they had no time to complete both treatments my partner had booked in the spa.
There was no malice, but it's clear there is a huge training gap for most of the staff.
