"ELaiolithos has the owner Helen’s stamp all over it. Helen and Pamela were very welcoming and provided us great local food including homemade jams and smoothies, Greek yogurt, salads with local cheese, and really tasty cocktails. They made sure we were never hungry! The atmosphere is very intimate and we chatted with the staff and other guests throughout our stay. Helen also gave us lots of tips on where to go and what to do nearby and throughout Naxos. There’s good hiking nearby the property - throughout the valley where Helen’s brother’s sheeps graze for more easygoing hiking or to Mount Zas a short drive away for more challenging hiking. The staff has lots of attention to detail and helps tailor your stay. They brought fresh melon to our room after our more strenuous hike and offered us a complimentary massage. We divided our stay in Naxos into two parts - 2 nights at ELaiolithos and 2 nights closer to the beach. I’d strongly recommend this. Although beaches are accessible from ELaiolithos, probably 30 min drive, we really enjoyed exploring the inland part of Naxos - the mountains, villages (Chalki, Filoti, Apeiranthos), and local food and culture.
