Upon check-in, the clerk insisted we had reserved two rooms, not one. I showed him our hotels.com reservation on my phone, which clearly said "1 room," but he insisted that we pay for two. Fortunately, I had a friend with me who needed a room as his reservation was at a hotel by the same name but 10 km up the road. We contacted the other hotel and they agreed to cancel that reservation. But the front desk service at this hotel was uncooperative.
Note when reserving this hotel that, incredibly, there are TWO hotels in the area called Hotel Campanile Metz Nord. This one is in Talange; the other is in another nearby town. This caused considerable confusion when friends reserved rooms at the other hotel and we reserved one here, thinking it was the same hotel. The front desk clerk said he was aware of the issue and that the confusion occurs frequently.
