This luxury mountain cabin features floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular river views, a beautiful firepit area, and a new private hot tub (installed in June 2021) to welcome you home from your daily excursions. Drop your bags in the expansive, open-concept living area to unwind beneath vaulted ceilings with a nice glass of wine.The deck is enormous and great for hosting get-togethers with friends and family. There's also a large flat yard with easy access to the creek, plenty of room for family games outside, and a screened-in gazebo and two benches where you and your loved ones can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. But tonight, select a movie from the DVD library to enjoy with lots of salty snacks, courtesy of the full kitchen. What's nearby: There are all kinds of fantastic opportunities to explore the mountains around you. Hike to the Swinging Bridge or the waterfalls, or head 18 miles south into Blue Ridge to enjoy a fantastic meal at one of the local favorites, such as Hi 5 for awesome burgers, fries, BLTs, and biscuits. The hot tub was clean and functioned properly (always a big ? at weekly rentals) I can understand previous reviews about the driveway if it used to be gravel,as it is a steep decline, but they have paved it and we had no issues coming in or out. It is situated at the end of a very small country road at the bend of a creek and feels enchanting and private. The hot tub is fantastic. The exterior deck and furniture surfaces need to be de-mildewed and given a fresh coat of paint, however. And the interior surfaces need a freshen-up coat of paint as well. The hot tub, in my opinion needs a thorough cleaning. There was dirt build up under the grey adjustment knobs. There was also no chloride in the floater and none for us to put in it. The house was nice and it is surrounded by forest and a river. The hot tub, river and woods provide hours of fun for curious kids. Lots of books and some games were provided. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in the cool winter air. The hot tub did have some trouble staying hot (probably due to the cold temperatures outside). My only complaint is with Wilscot lane. It is a one lane paved drive going in and out and it is steep. There is almost no edge to the main road so going in and out of the property was unsettling. ##### Lisa H. Sep 27, 2023 #### Great, peaceful retreat We had a fabulous time at Creekside Retreat. You shouldn’t have any problem getting to the cabin in your car, the steepest part of the road has been repaved and the flat area is gravel. The creek is beautiful and flows along the very large deck. We spent most of our time sitting by the creek or in the hot tub. The kitchen is fully stocked but if you are cooking you might want to bring some spices, there is salt and pepper in the cabinets. Bedrooms/bathrooms are nicely updated and provide all you will need for your stay. They don’t have cable/local channels, you will need a streaming service, there is one Roku enabled TV.
