Loving Lake Life is nestled in a gated community, right on the shores of Lake James! Our nearly new home comfortably sleeps 6 across the two main levels, with the option to rent the owner's quarters for an additional 4 guests. Enjoy relaxing on the beautiful porches, unwind in the game room, and take full advantage of the dock and all the water toys waiting for you! We’re thrilled to share our space for unforgettable times in this peaceful lakeside retreat. As you step into the great room, the kitchen immediately catches your eye with its sleek new appliances and a spacious marble-topped island with seating for six. It's fully stocked for those who enjoy cooking! The living room features a built-in electric fireplace beneath the TV and triple sliding doors that open to stunning lake views. These triple sliding doors lead to the back porch, where you'll find a dining area, comfortable seating, and a TV, all framed by the picturesque view of the lake. The primary bedroom offers direct access to the back deck and includes a private bathroom with a tile shower. The second bedroom has access to the second full bathroom. Upstairs, a large open common area awaits, complete with a desk, a game console featuring classics like Galaga and Pac Man, a ping pong table, a cozy TV area, and two additional twin beds. With multiple porches, ample sleeping space for six, and plenty of water toys, it's the perfect spot to unwind and relax! Once you enter the gated subdivision where our home is located, you'll pass the Fonta Flora Trail and spot signs leading to the public cove beach, accessible only by trail or our community! The Fonta Flora Trail offers about 16 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails, winding through the woods and providing scenic lake overlooks. It's just a short walk from the house! Our dock sits in a peaceful cove, ideal for boating, swimming, or fishing. It features hammock swings, chairs for relaxing, two paddleboards, two kayaks, and lifejackets – all for your enjoyment! Whether you're reading a book, fishing, or watching for kingfishers, the dock is the perfect spot to unwind. Feel free to bring your own boat and tie it up to the side of the dock for use during your stay (please note, the two jetskis are not for guest use). Once you leave our calm, wake-free cove, you can explore all of Lake James, try water sports like skiing or wakeboarding, or simply take a leisurely cruise to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views from the water. Lake James is the cleanest lake in North Carolina! We're just a few miles from the Linville Gorge wilderness area and the public boat ramp at Linville Access. Lake James boasts 150 miles of shoreline, with around 30% of it belonging to Lake James State Park. The lake is home to ospreys, eagles, and many other wildlife species that you can spot during your stay! Guests stay on the second and third levels of the house, while the bottom level is reserved for the owner's quarters. If you're interested in bringing additional guests, such as in-laws or a second family, please reach out for information on renting the extra space. The bottom floor includes two bedrooms (one queen and two twins, sleeping four), a bath, living and dining areas, and a kitchenette. Kitchen was well-stocked and the walk down the path to the water is short. The docks a nice with lots of toys available. The setting is quiet and neighborhood is gated. The upstairs game room would be great if you brought children. Overall, this is a very nice place and a good deal for the location.We have just a few recommendations:-the home is a little sparsely decorated which made it feel less cozy. The couch was across the room from the TV, so it felt like a fairly large distance if you are going to watch TV. There are only 3 lamps in the entire house, so you have to use the overhead lights in the evening if you want to see. This is subjective, so take it as you will-Wished there were a king-size bed. This is on us for not reading carefully. The bed in the master bedroom was quite soft and my partner and I kept rolling to the middle.-There is a very bright security light in the back corner of the house. The owner let me know it is required for insurance and they've installed a couple of screens to try and mitigate the effect, but it made sitting out on the deck at night not as enjoyable as one it shines in the direction of the deck-There is a downstairs area for the owner. No one was staying there, but you are unable to lock-off this portion of the house. It made me just a little uncomfortable, although the owners can realistically enter the home anytime. ##### Adam D. We spent hours swimming and taking the paddle boards and kayaks out. The dock is on a quiet part of the lake so we never had to worry about boat traffic with the kids. We came to celebrate my daughter and her boyfriend turning 21 and your place exceeded all our expectations! We had some competitive late night games of ping pong and foosball and laughed at how fun it was. This was truly one of the BEST Family weekends we’ve had in a long time! My family stayed in June 2024, with 3 generations represented. Everyone from my 3yo daughter to my 64yo father enjoyed getting out of the kayaks a d paddle boards, swimming in the lake, enjoying coffee and treats on the back porch, and playing ping pong and arcade games upstairs. As an added bonus, there's a small and historical graveyard on the street. We visited to pay our respects and had fun researching the family. We did have an unexpected snag with smoke detectors sounding in the middle of the night on our final night, but I was able to call and reach the host immediately (even at 3am) so we could resolve and get back to bed. The house was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. With the kids space upstairs, ping pong table, foosball table, pac-man, beautiful lakefront, dock with kayaks and paddleboards, a lovely outdoor space for relaxing and grilling, washer and dryer, and walking trails just down the street, you literally never have to leave! We could have not asked for anything more. The location in the cove on the lake was the best. You can swim right off the dock without fear of being run over by other boats. Also, the cove is perfect for kayaking or paddle boards. Communication with the owner was easy although not much was necessary since everything was perfect. The kitchen was well-stocked and the home had great amenities. It was an easy walk to the dock and we and our teen sons loved the kayaks and SUP boards. The only issue was that it was hard to dock our boat. We had to take down the bimini each time we pulled up to the dock.
