Very nice hotel with a great breakfast. Locations is great. Water view was nice to wake up to.

We appreciate all feedback and feel it is an important tool for us to understand and know what our guests feel. I do apologize regarding the guests in the lobby as well as the elevator. The lobby is a public place for guest to gather and spend time together and enjoy themselves but we definitely do not promote drunkenness and rude behaviors.. Carolina Coast stay

Great place to stay. It was right by the water, which can be accessed at dining area. Our only regret was not getting a room on the water side.

left sick because of a/c unit.

Pros: location
This hotel is right on the inner coastal waterway. While not grand I thought it would do the job for a 3 night stay with a friend. The room was very clean and was well very typical for what I expected. The downside was the a/c unit. Our room had 2 double beds and one bed is 2 feet from the a/c unit with vents locked in place pointing right at the head of the person sleeping in the bed. Because the unit is controlled by a thermostat on the wall, it is either on full blast or off. No in between. After one night of having my hair parted by the a/c unit turning on every 30 minutes all night low, I woke up with a sore throat. After two nights of this it was a full blown sinus infection. 3 times I went to the front desk asking if there was anything they could do. Eventually I got a second identical room to the first, but slept in the bed away from the a/c unit. 2 of the staff members said they would talk to management about getting me a reduced rate on the second room and promised they would call. Of course they never did. They also charged me full price for the second room - even more than I paid through Expedia. Not only was it an awful experience, but it cost me much more than I budgeted. Very disappointing stay.

Set up more for artistic looks than comfort.

Pros: The room was clean. The view where we sat and ate breakfast was nice.
Check in and check out took twice as long as anyplace I've stayed. Rooms were bare minimalist; had to use ottoman for my suitcase. Bathroom, there were no place to put soap or shampoo in shower/bath. Even the stand holding the toilet paper had to be held to get a couple sheets off or it fell over. Complimentary breakfast: no attendant to clean off tables after someone left, a long wait before someone refilled food or coffee. I've stayed in Hampton Inns before and this was definitely not what I expected.
