Our stay was amazing - the property is beautiful, staff is extremely friendly and helpful although sometimes their English is a bit challenging but manageable at the end. Everything was great, the only thing that can improve is probably the restaurant menu / there may need to be different dining options added, as the menu remains the same and after a few days it just gets boring when you have tried all the different options.

The snorkeling was great. But hotel areas and room was average. Our first night there thy did not explain that we had two options for dinner. They told us there was only the buffet option which cost me 150.00 for two people and the food was not good. The only area that was air conditioned was our room. It was very hot and humid during our stay would have been nice to be able to go somewhere air conditioned besides our room. They offered breakfast at the hotel but you had to sign up for your whole stay or you couldn't eat there and it was expensive. I felt that options at the horel were rigid and the staff did not explain everything and were not flexible at all.

We had an over the water bungalow that was nice. Took a while to get the AC adjustments right, but it worked well. (We were at another over the water bungalow on another island, and the AC was underpowered.) This resort was within walking distance from a shopping district , grocery store, and even a laundromat. Other resorts were much further from shopping options, so we lucked out selecting this one.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept, the entire resort, the bungalows, restaurant, pool are all immaculate and clean! The swimming pool is beautiful, with an amazing view. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Dolphins visited every morning while we sat on the balcony of our premium over water bungalow looking over the ocean. The entire staff, all of the employees at the Manava Beach Resort truly went out of their way to make our stay extra special, they were professional and kind! We stayed here 34 years ago when it was the Bali Hi and we are so happy we returned! We would highly recommend this resort and would not stay anywhere else on Moorea! Snorkeling package with pickup next to resort. Swim with eagle rays, blacktip sharks and many tropical fish. We even saw a green turtle. Highlight was a barbeque lunch prepared on the boat and served on a table just off the beach. Lots of fish swimming around our legs while we enjoyed grilled fish, chicken and poke. The best!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and it was exceptional! The staff really made our stay feel super special. They were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and went above and beyond for our visit. We stayed in an overwater bungalow and were able to see sea turtles, sting rays, and so many fish right from our room. We could also rent kayaks for free and explore the lagoon. The hotel’s location is also convenient. It’s close to Cook’s Bay and the beautiful Tema’e Beach. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking to come to Moorea.

Loved this property and it met all my expectations. We were greeted with a welcome drink and a tour of the property. Our bungalow was amazing and loved watching the gold fish swim by in our floor window!!!

relatively small property. We stayed on-water bunglow, and it was good. We had got corner bunglow which was a bit noisy since locals were using that area for their water activities. Other than that, it was decent experience.

So the staff was really nice. The reality is though make sure you NEVER take a two room suite downstairs. We were there for two nights but the construction is not good for sound. You can hear all footsteps. Not worth the money for this. This was my biggest complaint. As we were there two nights we dealt with it and essentially 5/6 meals were comped. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All the bungalows are stand alone so nice.

Excellent vacation for those who likes Beaches. We saw sea turtles, shark, and literally thousands of fishes standing on the boardwalk. The island itself is very small though you might get tired of it if your vacation is more than 5-6 days

Small and quiet resort, we took the front water bongalu which was great, but it had ants in the room (not a lot) . The food is not great and if you book during holiday, they charge you for an holiday dinner that is not worth it.

This was our least favorite resort. The rooms were outdated and falling apart. The wall paint was chipped, the bathroom walls were gooey and sticky. We requested a king bed and got 2 twin beds pushed together. Each was a different height as one was older than the other. Our sheets were dirty when we checked in and had to request them to be changed twice before someone came to change them. Asides from ants and mosquitos there were lizards in our room. We did request the room to be sprayed but the spray didn’t keep the bugs away all day and we had to go buy a bottle to keep up with the ants throughout the stay. We were downstairs and you could hear everything that was upstairs and to the rooms next to us. I asked for earplugs but that was not an option available. Before checking in we were also forced to purchase the Christmas dinner or we weren’t allowed to check in. They said everything would be closed which made sense but the buffet was a hefty price 15000/person and drinks were not included only a welcome glass of champagne. Lastly, additional charges were added to the bill which were drinks ordered by a different guest and were charged to our room. Luckily they kept receipts and were able to find the responsible room to charge them to.

The staff at this resort were incredible. They went above and beyond with every detail. The property itself was also amazing. We stayed in an overwater bungalow with incredible views. I would highly recommend this hotel for families and couples alike. It is a beautiful setting with 5 star service and atmosphere.

Staff were very polite and professional. Location was outrageous. Food at the resort was mediocre. The buffet breakfast had a lot of options but they could vary it up. Drinks were great and strong !

there needs to be a screen over the bathroom window slats to prevent insects from betting inside. we were invaded by ants almost daily, but did not notice that there was not a screen until we departed.

If you go that far, go all the way
Bungalow on the water was a dream-come-true. Beautifully appointed, ample towels and bath products, comfortable bed, spacious, and an expansive view of the great blue lagoon. Snorkel from a personal deck along a coral drop-off in warm water. Sleep in with light blocking drapes. And a glass window on the floor to the dancing light on the water below.

Very good resort, needs better staff
The resort is very nice, clean, and well maintained. The location is also on the more convenient side of the island from the ferry terminal. There are a few places to walk to for food and shopping. I was scuba diving for a few days at the dive shop on their property (a great experience) when I decided to move the remainder of my hotel stay to Manava for convenience. My only criticism is the young man at the front desk was smug and not helpful for the two days I was there. I suppose I looked less than normally presentable in my disheveled diving clothes, because he appeared smug and superior when he spoke with me (solo, young Asian female). I asked to check my bag one morning while I planned to go diving as well as waited to check into the hotel at 2pm. I was told the luggage will be sent to the room when it's ready. When I arrived back to the lobby to check in hours later, I saw my luggage (and only mine) by the side of the front door entrance, where my passport and wallet were one zipper away from idle hands. I angrily asked why my luggage wasn't locked away, and he smiled at me and shrugged, then said it was safe there. I would likely not stay there again due to this attitude as there are several similar resorts on the island.

The resort was beautiful, quiet and very clean. We stayed in a Premium Over Water Bungalow and really enjoyed seeing all the fish and the coral right underneath and around the bungalows. We enjoyed snorkeling along the bungalows also. We took a kayak out one day and also swam in the nice swimming pool. Some problems we encountered were with the dining. Twice I never got the drink I ordered and service was slow. The language barrier also caused a few problems also, but I know it was our fault as we don’t speak French or Polynesian. We were offered a discount breakfast package and we accepted after asking a couple of times if the price was for the whole week we were there and the lady said yes, but at checkout it was actually per person per day which came to $70 a day just for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was the same every morning and got old after a few mornings even when trying to have something different each morning. They didn’t have crepes or waffles. Also birds would fly in to the fruit area and stand on the food and take some. I didn’t think that was very sanitary. Overall a great, relaxing stay and we enjoyed our time there.

We loved the property. I took my three teen / early 20 kids and we had a blast. My only issue is that the staff was not particularly friendly. This was not across the board and I would go back to the property. If you are spending the money to go to Moorea I suggest spending extra to get an overwater bungalow. We saw one of the standard rooms and it did not compare to the overwater bungalows.

Overall, a wonderful stay. Balcony chairs were very uncomfortable and no conditioner in the showers. Restaurants and buffets were a bit lacking although we are a bit fussy. Mostly very friendly staff and the hotel offers spectacular views. Apparently the best hotel on the island.
