Nice hotel, very well located downtown.

Curtains were dirty. Housekeeping should have noticed it before we checked in. Room very small for a four and a half star. Staff were excellent. Great location downtown.

Awesome hotel!

Sofitel is a beautiful piece of architecture. The staff was friendly and very helpful, the rooms were clean and modern. The location was central and accessible to all restaurants and shopping. My only complaint would be the price of breakfast in the Renoir restaurant. I think $70.00 for a regular breakfast is a tad too expensive!

Excellent Location

Posted 21-Aug-2015
Pros: Location and cleanliness of the hotel. The bed is very comfy. And that they turn on the radio to a classic music radio station to welcome you everyday
Cons: Everything is already improved in my opinion.
This hotel had a GREAT location! The staff was very very nice and helpful. We happened to be the "guest of the day" upon arrival. We were eligible for a room upgrade but they did not have an upgraded room available. Either way, we got a corner room which had an amazing view to Mont Royal Park and a little bit of the city. They also gave us a free drink pass at their hotel restaurant. Very close to Cresent street, St catherines, the info tourist station, and metro station. Everything is within walking distance from the hotel. I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

Excellent hotel in a great location

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: Location. Very comfortable.
Cons: None.
Location: Breakfast at Cafe Vasco de Gamma. Dinner and drink at the Pullman. Hike park Mont Royal. Catch the metro to the Jean Talon Market or anywhere else.
Check in was pretty smooth and trouble free. Concierge was very nice. The room was pretty spacious and the bed was very, very comfortable. The location is excellent. The metro station is only one black away. It is very close to park mont royal, which we hiked from the hotel. We walked to the Pullman for dinner. We walked and had breakfast at Cafe Vasco de Gamma. Both were outstanding.

Overpriced & Substandard Amenities

Posted 16-Aug-2015
I asked and got a different luxury room after one night. Lower floor room (#303) was noisy especially when it was raining and inferior views. Room felt very small. Bed and pillows overly worn and pillows (both rooms) were flat and uncomfortable. No summer lighter blanket. Local calls $2; my phone charges came to C$86!!! Room carpet worn as were window curtains! Slow "free" in room WiFi and C$3 to C$10 per hour to upgrade to faster Wifi. I will never stay at this Sofitel!!!!

Very disappointing stay

Posted 10-Aug-2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Room way too small, a real joke, almost insulting at that price; they should be ashamed of themselves of giving out rooms at that price. Requested feather-free room at check-in and assured we would get those changes ASAP; 3 hrs later, we did not so had to request it again. Next day, leave hotel at 10 am and return at 3 pm for some rest and guess what: room NOT done!!! Had to request that too... It seems this hotel is all about the front office/lobby "show" but service is just horrible. On 2 occasions, the bell boys looked at us from the outside without opening the door;they were too busy catering to sports car and wealthy people. You always had to wait in line at the front desk to speak to someone. And at check-out, not one question about "your stay". My suggestion: AVOID this hotel at all cost, they are way better ones in Montreal. It's overpriced, service is horrible and rooms are a joke. This hotel is all for the show... Very unsatisfied customer from NY
