I pretty well knew what I was getting from Marriot. Total price, tax in, was CDN $309. The room was great. Large, modern, immaculately clean and more or less convenient as it was attached to the terminal. However the walk from where the plane landed in Domestics Arrivals was long. It would have been shorter and cheaper to take a cab to a nearby hotel. I do not stay at Marriots enough to know if this is standard, but the bar fridge was empty - no drinks, no snacks (though there were Illy coffee capsules for the coffee machine). The bar and restaurant close at 11:00 pm. (I arrived just before 2:00 am). And, well, I think this is just petty, After paying $309, the WiFi for the night would have been an extra $10. Really? The TV did have a good selection of channels. I watched something on AMC. I did try to call service twice around 2:30 am. No answer. I had booked the hotel because I knew I would be arriving late and wanted something that was not fuss and very comfortable. It was mostly that, but, value for money? I would have to say, not quite.
