Great Location, Great Price, Threadbare but Clean

Posted 18-May-2016
Pros: The location is the major selling feature. Near metro stations, and lots in walking distance, too. Price is very good. Staff very friendly.
Cons: Employee communication could be better. It's hard to keep an older building looking clean, even when it is. Weekend guests were a bit noisy.
Location: Very central. Near metro stations, and lots in walking distance, too. I didn't have time for much site seeing, but the hotel is well placed for it.
The hotel itself is showing a bit of wear and tear, and even scrupulously cleaned it can be hard to make older buildings seem clean. It's clearly cleaned and maintained as well as it can be, and has a well-loved quality. The staff member who checked me in and out (possibly a manager or owner?) was extraordinarily gracious and helpful. He gave me tonnes of ideas for things to see and do during my trip. Any language problems were minor and staff was kind and patient with my English/lousy French, even those who spoke minimal English. Communication among staff members could have been better; requests made of overnight staff didn't consistently make it to day staff, for example. The price was very reasonable. The location was very central; getting around on foot and by metro was easy. Other guests got a bit noisy on the weekend nights and around check out time on Sunday, so maybe not ideal for light sleepers. Very peaceful during the week.

L'essentiel, pas le superflu

Posted 2-May-2016

Clean and inexpensive in proximity

Posted 22-Apr-2016
Pros: Breakfast in the room
Cons: Fresh paint will improve overall appearance
Location: Ideal for public entertainment places
The place offers value for the money. No frills just a clean room The fact they bring your continental breakfast to the room free of charge is a rarity in low budget places

Une chambre pour dormir en famille

Posted 14-Apr-2016

For one night it's ok... Breakfast in the room is a good thing. For the rest, very basic.

Budget hotel close to the Metro

Posted 4-Apr-2016
Pros: The best things about the hotel were the 3 min walk to the metro; breakfast delivered to your door every morning (fabulous croissants!) and the staff.
Cons: room was quite cold when we arrived and there were 2 of us but only 1 bath towel provided. There was no clock in the room and no tissues.
Location: Hotel is in the gay village/latin quarter. Very central location only a few stops on the Metro to the Old Port area and the touristy crescent st.
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Every time I was in the lobby the person behind the desk was an early 20s university student. Check in was at 3pm but we had an early flight and arrived around 11am. We were able to check in right away and get settled which was great.

Pros: Le prix
Salutations, Luc
