Cheap Hotel by price and quality to stay

Posted 1-Oct-2017
Pros: Nothing really
Cons: Build the new hotel with the same name
Location: Noisy small street , not far from downtown. Some garbage containers on the street.
Old small hotel with outdated everything. Screaming floor and doors. Tube TV !!! Not really usable. WiFi did not work in the room. A lot of street noise coming thru the window. No hotel parking for your car. Room is very small, hardly fit the double bed. If you do need just an any place to sleep, it will work well. If you want a bit comfort, should find another place.

Pros: Cheap. Decent for one night stay just to sleep.
Cons: Very outdated and security could be amped up more.
Location: Location was in the Gay Village of Montreal, right off of St. Catharine. 15 - 20 minute walk to Old Montreal.
When we showed up, our booking wasn't accepted on the hotel's end yet, so we almost didn't have a room even though we booked days prior to arriving. The gentleman was very nice, however, and it did work out in the end. I wasn't expecting much since I did read the reviews prior to booking, but it was decent for the money. Definitely a bit more "sketchy" and lots of homeless locals around that part of Montreal, but it was good enough for our one night stay and only used it to get ready and sleep in. Breakfast was on time with coffee and croissants. The croissants were hard as a rock, though and not edible. Coffee was terribly bitter. Elevator only goes up to level 3, then you have to walk up to the 4th floor. Definitely not a place I would stay in on the regular or by myself. But I was with 3 girlfriends for a night out at the Casino, and it served its purpose.

Pros: location/price worth the room
Pleasant stay, quiet, good for travellers looking for bed and bathroom clean without expecting a Hilton room. Budget not put on room but on visiting.

Good location but poor experience

Posted 5-Sep-2017
The hotel is close to a major metro hub (Berri UQAM) but the hotel is dingy and in desperate need of updates. No patricularly good restaurants in the area. Very loud hotel with (often drunk) people coming back late at night yelling and being disruptive.

Hotel is just ok. Could have been a little cleaner and more up to date.

Located in the heart of Montreal

Posted 18-Aug-2017
Pros: Close to all the local attractions
Cons: Better mini fridge and a fresh coat of paint
Location: Located a block from a small shopping mall that has a drugstore, IGA and a food court. Many restaurants in the area, close to Berri UQAM Metro
Great staff running this place, the location is perfect for my needs while staying in Montreal as it's a 5 minute walk from the best Metro stop in the city. Rooms are quiet and clean, of course it needs a bit of updating but I enjoyed my stay!
