My wife's and my stay at the Auberge de Vieux-Poirt was, in a word, magnifique.
From the moment we arrived at the door, our expectations were exceeded. The hotel itself is beautiful, as you can easily tell from the pictures. The area is just as wonderful, with anything you might need a short walk and even shorter cab ride away. We were even able find a laundromat within walking distance, which was a big help given the cost of hotel laundry services.
The staff are by and large extremely professional and personable. All of the greeters and desk workers speak fluent English, but were also kind enough to entertain and encourage our feeble attempts at French. The cleaning staff and late night concierges aren't as likely to understand English, though, so it's a good idea to try and get so French under your belt. We only had a problem one night when we called the hotel for help ordering a cab and couldn't communicate where we wanted to be picked up.
We will certainly be returning to this hotel in the future.
Location was great and staff were nice except when we were checking out the early morning of 6/20, the front desk man made such a fuss that we didn’t have our room keys and left them in the room.
Location is great, it is noisy at night but nothing terrible.
Excellent location in the old city by the water. All staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were large, but lacked space to put clothing away. Bathroom was updated but very few places to put toiletries and cleanliness was subpar. Shower did not work properly on arrival and took several hours to fix without any compensation offered.
Food options were good and loved the rooftop bar-although our room was right below it and could hear the music until late at night.
