Close to pubs, cafes, shops and a laissez-faire ambiance, we offer magnificent large and open areas over two floors totaling 1,600 ft² plus a South-West facing garden of 600 ft². \- Heating, cooling, ventilation and electricity \- 51\`\` Smart TV 4K with Bell PVR-HD and subscription ; \- Unlimited professional-grade internet at 50MB/s \- 1 master bedroom with queen bed and en suite shower \- 1 big bedroom in the basement with queen bed and large storage and en suite full bathroom \- 1 bedrooms with double bed \- 1 huge kitchen all equipped \- 1 kitchen counter top for five (5) seated guests ; \- 1 open space with sofa for five (5) seated guests ; \- 1 Double sofa bed in the open space ; \- 400 ft² private backyard \- overall, up to eight (8) sleeping guests ; \- extra unit available as possible upgrade for more space with overall twenty one (21) sleeping guests. It was clean and nice. There are a few things I would mention: There are not three bathrooms, there are two. One bedroom just has a random shower in it. And the bathroom in the basement is very make-shift. I am 5’ 10” and had a hard time in there. The place is well furnished, the appliances are new and there is plenty of room for probably 8 people if needed. It is close to a whole lot of restaurants, museums, clubs... McGill is a 10 min walk, public transport is nearby. The owner is responsive and helpful. A couple of things need to be mentioned that I didn't like. There is no parking on site, thats a straight up misrepresentation - we had to park 25 mins away. The other thing is that there is an apartment upstairs and when people walk there you hear it big time. It can be annoying. But if you're sleeping downstairs, it doesn’t matter. The host promised to call when housekeepers finished, but despite our multiple calls and messages asking for an update, we received no response. We had to make a decision before 5 PM or we would have been left with nowhere to store our suitcases. The host only responded after the checkin time, when we had already checked into the hotel. This complete failure to communicate cost us over 900 CAD in hotel rooms and extra transportation.Additionally, the washing machine contained blue ink residue that stained a lot of our clothes. Also the "third bathroom" is a shower in the corner of the bedroom.Lastly, we had quite a bit of issues keeping the place warm. We didn’t rent a car and found taking the bus from the airport easy (Google Maps helped), and we were glad we didn’t Uber, because the line was long. A bus stop right outside the apartment gets you to Old Town/Chinatown in 10 minutes. We rarely waited more than 5 minutes.The apartment was very clean and near several dine-in/takeout spots. A grocery store and the lively, pedestrian-only Ave Mont-Royal are within walking distance, along with Mount Royal Park, which has steep trails and scenic views. A new pool and splash park were under construction (July 2025).A few tips:To unlock the door, don’t lightly touch the display—use your palm.The main shower only gets hot when the handle is centered.The AC ran constantly even when the thermostat next to the fridge said it was off. We emailed and messaged the property manager several times. Ultimately, we were allowed to shut it off at the fuse box and used it only at night.There’s some noise from the upstairs unit and the street-facing bedroom—earplugs helped.Trash goes in black opaque bags; recycling in transparent ones. Beds were comfortable and the modern kitchen well appointed. The basement bedroom was nice but difficult to access since it has a narrow stairway without a handrail (downstairs not recommended for seniors.) Owner was gracious and contacted us occasionally to see how things were going…even brought us warm bagels. Kinda funky neighborhood but safe, a block away from biking and walking trails. Good restaurants within walking distance. Closest Metro underground was about a 15 minute walk away. Apartment is on a busy street and parking close by. ##### Phil B. However, I have never had a worse experience with noise/disruption and the response of the owner to our concerns. Our first night the guests upstairs were so loud that from top to bottom the four floor apartment was filled with noise. I sent video and audio to the owner seeking support and relief from the incident that occurred with the large crowd making all this noise from 12am-5:30am. After a sleepless night and providing video of the incident, the owner’s response was appalling. The owner’s response to us in summary: I, too, am a victim. The owner did not have a sleepless night and I was left perplexed by this selfish response. Knowing that our concerns had fallen on deaf ears, I did not even bother reporting a lack of hot water in showers and the regular visit of small black ants that were present in kitchen when we got there. If you do not mind inconvenient parking, ants, cold showers, a sleepless night and a lack of concern by the owner, then this will work for you. I hesitate sending this because every other review I have left on Vrbo and other sites have been done because I have had positive experiences and the owner deserved to have that.
