Our home sits atop a bedrock cliff, with gorgeous, untouched Shawagunk mountain views and the peaceful sounds of the river and 30-ft. waterfall running below. The cabin is wonderfully cozy yet feels spacious, rustic while having most modern amenities provided to you. Enjoy total seclusion close to so many things to see and do! This adorable 1951 red log cabin oozes charm, with so many little places to hang out. Make your morning coffee in our modern kitchen, then relax on the deck directly above the waterfall, watching the sun rise over the mountain. Laze away on our outdoor chaise lounges, while watching the hawks or (quiet) glider planes soaring overhead. On a rainy day, enjoy the screened-in breezeway with a warm wool blanket and a board game. Fire up the BBQ and grill local veggies and dine al fresco under the stars. Unwind with a bubble bath in our claw foot bathtub, while sipping a glass of organic wine from nearby Bashakill Vineyard, looking up at the stars through the giant skylight. Pop some popcorn and put in a DVD from our collection before snuggling up on our super-comfy couch. The last time was six years ago, and it’s only gotten more charming and relaxing since then. The ambient sound of the waterfall below immediately soothes the soul upon arrival. Even with being snowed and iced in for a few days we were able to enjoy the cabin thoroughly. Perfect escape for a few days to relax, do some bird watching and enjoy the hot tub. Played a lot of board games and video games in the nice living room and dining area.The Kitchen is incredibly well stocked with cookware, utensils, spices and anything you might need, even a Kitchen Aid if you felt like doing some baking. The owners, Adam and Chrissy, were more than helpful in answering our questions (especially the last minute TV questions before a big game, and how to operate the shower). They welcomed our larger old dog, which was priceless. The inside of the cabin is cozy and nostalgic, but you cannot beat the view! We loved listening to the waterfall below, the layers of colors in the foliage were amazing, and the property is so private! We watched huge birds soar in the gorge and loved our drives exploring the area. Perfection! ##### Sally C. What an extraordinary place! We wanted a peaceful spot in the Catskills, and this fully delivered. The house is exquisite — very cool, very comfortable. The location can’t be beat, with an excellent view and the sounds of a waterfall. And you could tell just how special the place is to the hosts — Adam and Chrissy were extremely helpful and responsive, full of wonderful recommendations, and clearly love the space, which made for a really spectacular stay. It’s a little piece of heaven overlooking beautiful mountains and picturesque skies! You can’t get more peaceful than sitting there watching the glider planes in this beautiful space while listening to the waterfall beneath you and enjoying a drink. Couple of issues we had - the hot tub was not operational and we were really looking forward to it. I was even more disappointed when I saw how nice it looked! Inside there is no shower - you have to stand in a (very nice) claw foot tub & use handheld which is a bit tricky. The outside shower is nice though! I wish we were able to book for a longer stay. Next time we will book earlier. I'm already looking for a long weekend in the fall. 😁😉 We enjoyed our morning coffee outside looking at the view. It was so relaxing.. Watching all the beautiful birds enjoy the feeders was awesome! We saw hummingbirds, blue jays, cardinals, chickadees and a few others. The red squirrels and chipmunks were so cute and fun to watch also. We also made good use of the hot tub. It felt amazing! The cabin is so cute and cozy. We really enjoyed learning the history of the cabin. It has such a warm, relaxing vibe. We didn't use the tub.... We showered outside everyday! It felt so good!! If there was a shower curtain around tub, we may have used inside tub. We didn't want a bath and were afraid of getting bathroom floor wet by using handheld shower. A shower curtain would be beneficial in colder months... We loved that you also recycle and compost. ♥️🌎 All this being said, we already want to come back!! Their home is well-appointed and has a perfect, cozy feel. Hearing the waterfall, making an outdoor fire, and watching the sun rise and set over the forest and mountains was incredibly special. We also appreciated their attention to detail and warm welcome - snacks upon arrival, use of spices/condiments/coffee, and a super helpful binder with local information, recommendations and tips. The interior is the perfect balance of cozy but not over the top. Comfortable to watch TV, eat meals, cook dinner in a perfectly stocked kitchen, etc. The hosts were great.
