Alexis was very helpful through the whole check in and stay. The property can only be accessed by the water. Alexis connected with us through WhatsApp to make communication easier and answer any questions we had. It took us quite awhile to reach Lake Atitlan due to traffic but we were able to take a water taxi to the hotel from Panajachel. There are several stairs to climb but the staff was very helpful in carrying our luggage. The rooms are spacious and provide a unique experience away from the busy cities of San Pedro and Panajachel. Alexis cooked us a lovely dinner each night of traditional Guatemala cuisine which was delicious!

We had the most amazing stay at this property! The hotel was insanely beautiful and very well kept. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of, and accommodated every request we had. Truly have never been so impressed by a hotel. 1000% recommend staying here if you are traveling to Lake Atitlan/San Marcos. They can even help arrange private transfers for you to eliminate stress. I will definitely be back in the future, not one bad thing to say about this hotel!!! Huge thank you to the staff- you truly made this a memorable stay for us!

The property is great . very much resort experience. Appreciate the ambeience as well. There were a couple of issues for us like 1. barely any options for vegans 2. the drinks at the pool side bar on thursday were really bad - compared to the Blue Bar which we indulged in the previous 2 nights

Beautiful property with incredibly friendly staff. There is a convenient tienda right next to the property, and the walk down to the main square is short and easy. The location felt perfect for exploring Antigua. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic, and the coffee is the perfect start for your adventure into the city. I will absolutely stay here again on my next visit.

First and foremost, the staff at El Carmen are wonderful, especially Arnold who took care of us from arrival to departure and the staff at breakfast. Our room was lovely, well-appointed and had a fantastic hot shower. We loved having lunch in the courtyard and breakfast on the terrace. The food was really good and well-priced. After 6 weeks in Guatemala, we can say this was our favorite hotel experience.
