Oozing with old charm character of the yesteryear. It’s close to the gate, so not much walking through the cobblestone laneways with suitcases. The room was small ( which was ok for us) had nice details to suit the old feeling. Shower was very small and water run all over but it had hot water. Easy check in. It is not far from the gate so very short walk with all our staff. Need better sign in English, we passed the place and had to come back. Over all nice and reusable priced. It was pretty close to the entrance to the walled city. There were a few pretty good stairs to climb (with luggage). It was difficult to find. I'll leave a pic of what to look for. Before you get to the place, you'll see a sign that says "GULAS", but at the actual entrance, it is in Greek. The owner was there waiting for us (even though we were later than expected). I wish I had gone ahead and paid when we arrived, as she was not present when we were ready to leave. I contacted hotels.com and they contacted her and she called me (via whatsapp) right away and we were able to handle the payment over the phone. It's a cute little place, with a nice patio and little sitting room. I couldn’t open the door as they’re old & you nearly have to kick it in for it to open. The bed is hard, not a proper mattress. The only place that was great was the terrace they had. What we got was a dirty, old facility with broken fixtures. We seem to be victims of a bait and switch scam. In addition, the hospitality was unacceptable. With minimal hygiene items supplied, 4 waters over 2 days, scratchy towels that could exfoliate your skin, and no change of towels or sheets, we felt abandoned resorting to our own devices to meet basic needs after paying such a hefty fee for our stay.
