The location was great, just a short walk to the main vine bridge in Iya Valley. But it's also secluded enough to really feel the remoteness of Iya Valley. My room was wonderful, very well appointed and clean. The high point was the staff. They were all wonderful and kind, and went above and beyond during my stay. They even drove me to the bus stop in the morning so that I wouldn't have to walk with my suitcase. What a unique experience to stay in this beautiful inn nestled in the Iya Valley. We were the only 'foreigners' and didn't quite know all the etiquette but the all people there were so friendly and kind. It wasn't clear when we booked, but dinner and breakfast were included in our rate and both were outstanding. Up there with the best Japanese food I've ever had. The onsen baths were great - particularly the outdoor one surrounded by rocks and maple trees. The vine bridge is just a short walk away and I recommend going to see it lit up at night (though you can only cross it during the day). The hot spring is good and you have everything you need. The staff is really nice specially the young lady and the environment is excellent. I would only say breakfast and dinner are a little expensive. Because we are not japanese we couldn’t fully eat the traditional breakfast they serve. Perfect place for those who want a piece of silence, onsen and Japanese style of food. They serve nice Japanese style of food with great service for breakfast and dinner.
