Viking House - Walk to campus!

Relax in this fully restored 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, Craftsman style house just steps from the University and blocks to downtown. Experience Missoula like a true local - walk to Missoula's best restaurants, breweries, and shops. The owners are an Icelandic/American couple (hence The Viking House) who love the outdoors, the vibrant cultural life in Missoula and a good strong cup of coffee from the Liquid Planet Grille around the corner.

The Viking House was built in 1920 and the entire house was fully renovated few years ago with all-new systems (including A/C), new master bedroom, sitting room, marble bathrooms, new gourmet kitchen, hardwood floors, and in-wall speaker system.
• Front porch: Sip your cold beverage and wave to locals! Porch with seating, fenced in yard
• Kitchen: Spacious area, custom made corner booth overlooking garden, gas range, fully equipped, marble island, dishwasher
• Back deck: BBQ grill, chairs, fenced in yard
• Ground floor livingroom: Large window facing leafy neighborhood, working gas fireplace, LCD TV, sectional sofa, comfy chairs
• Dining room: Dining table with 8 chairs, good window seat
• Pantry: ample space for longer stay supplies
• 2 bathrooms downstairs: Full bathrooms, tub/shower
• 2 bedrooms downstairs: Queen beds, bedside table, dresser, closet
• Washer and dryer

Upstairs:
• Upstairs living room: Skylights, work area, sofa, chairs, TV, library (did you know Icelanders read the most books per capita?)
• Master bedroom: King bed, skylight, custom built-in closet and drawers, bedside tables, reading lights
• Master bathroom: Modern glass shower, custom sink

This is a uniquely luxurious property that's perfect for a visiting professor, family, or executive on business. A truly one of a kind property in Missoula. Two bedrooms are located on the main floor and the master bedroom is located on the second floor up a flight of stairs.

House-trained dogs are welcome for a $75 fee per dog. Two dogs limit.
Dog beds available. Please pick up after your dog. Poop bags provided. There are two parking permits available for street parking. You can access most of downtown Missoula and the University of Montana by walking or biking. THERE IS A $50 REPLACEMENT FEE IF YOU LOSE OR TAKE THE PARKING PASS!!!

We live in town just a few minutes away from the house if anything needs to be done during your stay. We are always available via text/phone to answer any questions that may come up. We love Missoula and would be happy to give our recommendations.

You will access the house through the coded front door. This means that check in can be more flexible, as you don't need to arrange a specific time for a key exchange. If you would like us to meet you at the house for check in, that can be arranged as well.

Nice University Neighborhood Location
The house was in a great spot, centrally located next to the U, a quick walk to downtown, and just a stone's throw away from two great coffee shops.

Excellent stay and location
We were searching for a place that would accommodate dogs while still being convenient to enjoy all the things Missoula has to offer. This rental surpassed our expectations! The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and dishes which made cooking easy. The house is within walking distance to town for coffee, dinner, or a drink. The neighborhood was quiet and offered multiple sidewalks to walk our dogs or to just explore. The bedroom and bathroom upstairs offer a little seclusion if you are looking to rent a place with other couples or family members. I would caution you on the stairs going upstairs as they are a little steep. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves back in the Missoula area. Thank you!

Nice clean and well appointed property - also AC worked well and it was cool
This house was very clean and well appointed. Also, the air conditioner worked well and kept the house nice and cool while it was very warm outside. The information in the listing about parking is misleading - it says there is a spot out back in the alley, which isn't true as the owner also rents the space about the garage in the alley as a VRBO and makes the spot out back that renters space. So you are left with street parking using parking permits since it's in the university district and on Tue you can't park on the street at all due to street cleaning, or you'll be towed. When I raised with the owner that I wasn't getting what I paid for and the listing was misleading, he copped a bit of an attitude and told me I could stay at a hotel and pay $30/night for parking! Also, the door code that was provided by the VRBO notification email at check-in (and it's also in the VRBO listing once you get to check-in day) was wrong and we couldn't get in when we arrived. Fortunately the manager responded pretty quickly to our message and gave us the correct number - but what if we'd arrived at midnight.... Anyway, these two things were annoying given the amount we paid, but otherwise the house was clean, comfortable and cool in the Montana summer!

Great Historical House!
We love The Viking House. Have stayed there before. Great location, 3 houses down from a fantastic Liquid Planet coffee shop. Has such character ... warm, friendly, roomy and functional. And great location in Missoula on the older downtown side. We'll be going back!

Lovely Home in a Great Location
The University District is our favorite place to stay in Missoula - walking distance to the river, downtown and hiking trails. Very pedestrian and cyclist friendly. The house is a 40s craftsman, well renovated and comfortable, with all the necessities. A fenced yard makes it ideal for travel with your dog. The entire rental process was very easy. We would definitely stay here again.
