FREE Beach Serv. In Season Mar - Oct Welcome to the Mermaid Cottage! This wonderful 3 bedroom, 3 bath beach cottage is located in the beautiful Cottage Retreat Community of Destin Florida. We invite you and your family to stay in our wonderful cottage for a week in paradise! If you like sugar-white sand, emerald waters and swaying palms, you will love this community. The cottages in Cottage Retreat are quaint reminders of days gone by with front porches, and bright decorative colors, with the entire community built on a cul-de-sac. Our cottage comes equipped with all of the comforts of home and possibly a few more! This home has 3 bedrooms, beautifully furnished and all the comforts of home. This home features a wrap-around deck on the first floor, and the second floor has a balcony for enjoying fresh evening breezes. The beach walkover is a short 2 minute stroll to the sugar white sand and emerald waters of the Gulf. Our home is in a perfect location. You will want to return year after year! What to do in Destin besides enjoy our beaches!: Should you wish to explore what the local area has to offer, you'll find an abundance of choices. Sidewalks line scenic 98 for walking, running or bike riding. We are a short 2 mile drive to the Silver Sands mall to the West, or luxury shopping at Destin Commons to the East. Kenny D's, The Crab Trap, and Pompano Joe's are all within walking distance to Cayenne Cottage. We encourage you to leave menurs of your favorite restaurants when you come. For evening entertainment, Destin is known for some wonderfully upscale eateries, as well as your regular fare. Friendly night life and nearby state of the art movie theater. Do you like to shop?: The Silver Sands Outlet Mall is a vacation in it’s own right for shoppers you will have access to over 100 stores, including, Polo Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Liz Claiborne, Tommy Hilfiger, Lenox, Nike and Reebok - just to name a few. It was super clean, comfortable, and had everything we could need. We loved the decorator touches. The design really worked for our group, with a primary suite downstairs and another upstairs, along with a nicely appointed bunk room/bath. The beach was an easy walk, and there was a good walking area for our dogs. We’re planning our next years visit to the Mermaid! ##### Patricia Z. The house had most things we needed which was nice since we travelled in from out of state. The walk to the beach is very short and convenient and it was great that beach chairs and a wagon were provided. Our family would definitely stay again in the future! ##### Michael D. We really enjoyed the beautiful Mermaid Cottage and were very comfortable during our stay. It was an easy walk to the pool or the beach and the home offered plenty of room for our family during meals together, sitting on the balcony, and resting in the living room while enjoying our time together. We definitely look forward to staying again and are thankful to the family for sharing their home with our family. We had stayed at this same location before and love how close to private beach and nice pool. But this unit was more up to date and provided several perks (nice beach chairs and towels). My husband and I stayed here with our Lab, my brother, and his spouse. We are all over 50 peeps. The fact this house has 2 master bedrooms was awesome for our stay! One is on the 1st floor and the other upstairs. The house is roomy and has great amenities. We found everything to be in good working order. The kitchen was well stocked, but the pots and pans are pretty worn. I worry with nonstick surfaces when they are scratched up. There was plenty of sitting and dining room for us. The only thing that was a bit difficult in staying here was the door code. In the past, we only had 4 digits to remember. This was a 7 digit code to remember. It was certainly not a deal breaker, by any stretch of the imagination. We called upon the manager, Kathy to help us troubleshoot operating the air fryer oven. Altho, she was not able to figure it out for us, she was very responsive and kind in the process. The best part of our stay for me is that every other Southern VRBO we have stayed in, we have encountered roaches!! Now I know it is expected in the South, but for us Northerners, it is unnerving to see them in the house. We had absolutely no roaches seen in the house! So lovely!!
