"I stayed here three nights with my mom and had the most relaxing stay. The breakfast was good and the restaurant has a really nice view of the lake. The 25-30min drive from La Fortuna is worth it. We loved our stay and enjoyed the view. We watched the sunset from the pool. Just breathtaking view of lake Arenal and the Volcano. Would definitely love to stay here again. "

"Frustrated with our experience. I thought he had booked us a room with a private bathroom, but we were told at check in that it would be shared. We asked if they could switch us and the gentleman at the Front Desk said they were full but walking around the property that evening and the next morning we saw very a few cars in the parking lot. Plenty of rooms with windows, open undisturbed that we could’ve been moved too. It was not convenient for me to walk down a dark unit outdoor hallway to find a bathroom at night or in the early morning hours. I did not feel safe. There was no reason why they couldn’t have moved us to one of the mini available rooms. Also, the passcode for the doorlock was our room number. Not very safe either."

"We really loved the restaurant food options for dinner and the included breakfast was also very good. We loved the wait staff (and the receptionist!). Everyone was very accommodating and pleasant. They have seating outside overlooking the beautiful view and have a few swings there, as well, that our teenage girls used non-stop while we were there. Really beautiful quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of the more tourist filled La fortuna close by. We borrowed a TV and watched a movie together a couple of nights and enjoyed the hot tub and pool, as well! We really enjoyed our stay. "

"Breakfast was ok the fruits were fresh but the gallo pinto to dry. The rooms are big but outdated. No air conditioning. The surrounds are beautiful. If you don’t need air conditioned you will be fine. The bed is not comfortable neither the pillows. "

"We loved staying at Chachagua and would highly recommend it to anyone considering. The property is sprawling, with so much available onsite to enjoy. We took advantage of the coffee and chocolate tour, the cooking class, and the night tour on property. All were excellent. Additionally, Chachagua’s location is perfect for seeing Costa Rican wildlife. In less than 48 hours, we saw nearly everything we had only hoped we would see. The staff are friendly, the onsite guides are amazingly knowledgeable, and the quality of the hot springs are really nice. We also booked tours through the hotel that were in La Fortuna, ~30 minute drive. Those were also well coordinated and well communicated. We can’t say enough good things about our stay! "

"Located on the edge of the main town, greeting was warm and full of smiles which was followed by extensive information on the facilites and of many local excursions - we booked a local night walk which was perfectly managed. Room was compact but roomy enough to relax with a small open balcony. Breakfast was hearty with 4 or 5 options alongside unlimited beverages - local juices recommended. Add in free parking, simply perfect all around"

"The first thing to note is the drive up to the hotel—it’s very bumpy and uneven. If you’re driving, it’s best to take it slow, and ideally use a rental car you don’t mind putting through rough terrain. During our stay, we ran into a few issues with the staff, mainly around excursions being booked incorrectly and some basic questions not being answered clearly. While this was a bit frustrating, the stay itself was still pleasant overall. Food at the hotel felt somewhat overpriced for what you get. I’d recommend eating at nearby sodas instead, where the food is generally better and more reasonably priced. Overall, the hotel was solid for the price. The main downside was the service, which could benefit from being more professional and organized. With improvements in that area, the experience would be much better."

"Monteverde is Heaven on Earth. The Cloud Forest Lodge is the perfect place to enjoy it. Clean, spacious and relaxing rooms. Fabulous restaurant with Incredible views. The property is beautifully maintained. Probably the biggest asset are the staff. The front desk staff provided a wonderful welcome and then continued to help with advice and bookings throughout our stay. They were thoroughly professional and always very yfriendly. The restaurant staff are fabulous. Great attention to detail and humour, all while working a very busy restaurant. Costa Ricans are friendly, but the staff at Cloud Forest are on another level entirely. Bravo!"
