The basement game room is renovated and complete with a foosball table, pub table, Ping-Pong table, darts, and classic arcade games (Pac-Man, Galaga, DigDug, and more). The game room opens up to a screened porch that has also been renovated and features a sectional sofa and gas firepit, in addition to chairs and table seating. Here, wall-to-wall windows allow you to admire the sparkling waters of the lake, protected and shaded, without moving an inch from your vacation rental. You'll also have direct access to the private brand-new dock. During the warmer months get out on the lake, using the three stand-up paddleboards or the canoe! This ground-floor level also boasts two bedrooms (one being a bunk bedroom with a Bluetooth-enabled/colored LED light fixture the kids will love), a laundry room with a washer/dryer and full-size fridge, and a full bathroom with a tub/shower combo. The main floor open-concept living room/dining room combination has spectacular lake views, high vaulted ceilings, and indoor dining. This area opens up to a terrific lakefront wrap-around deck with an outdoor dining area and a gas grill, perfect for dining alfresco. The ample, fully-equipped kitchen has all the appliances and utensils needed to whip up practically everything that comes to mind. The second level of this home also features two separate bedrooms and two full bathrooms (one en suite), both with lake views. Utilize the fast, reliable Xfinity high-speed internet for work or play. Smart TVs are located in the living room and game room with access to a streaming network, cable, and movie services. Things to Know Two out of four TVs are streaming capable. Guests must provide their own accounts. This home is located on the public "cool" side of the lake. This home does not offer access to a community launch for guests with boats. You will have to use a public launch. Firewood is not provided, guests will have to bring their own. This property is managed by Vacasa Virginia LLC. We loved all the various decks, the screen porch, the canoe and dock and paddle boards and flotation devices. The Pac-Man machine was fun and ping-pong is always a winner we love the vaulted ceilings in every room. We would certainly rent this house again and loved Lake Anna. There was a very good boat rental just a mile away at the cove called shipwreck boat rentals and we rented up pontoon boat on two different days having a ton of fun exploring the lake . ##### Albert M. We spent the long weekend kayaking and canoeing. Evenings were spent around the large dining room table then relaxing on the dock,deck, or fire pit! The home is situated in a very quiet neighborhood with beautiful homes and gardens. We gave this a 5 rating however we wanted to rate it as a 4.5 due to the need for a through cleaning of the outside living areas, mostly the screened in porch. We did a light cleaning of the porch and were still able to enjoy the gas fireplace on the day the weather was questionable. We highly recommend the Life Is Good Lake House and would be happy to return for future getaways! Proximity to was a plus for us as we are from Maryland and our adult children reside in Richmond. Jun 29, 2024 #### Summer Kickoff Trip Our family was excited to take a trip to the lake with grandma, aunt and cousins to kick off the summer! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the lake and the house. We spent most of our time on the lake and there were plenty of activities available both indoors and outdoors. The host provides equipment to enjoy in the water if you don't want to worry about bringing your own. That being said, I would highly recommend bringing a pop up tent to provide shade on the dock come the afternoon. The kids enjoyed time on the decks and playing ping pong and Pac Man to get a break from the heat and sun. We spent time around the fire pit every night to end our days. While some amenities are outdated, the house was comfortable and you are definitely paying for the lakefront and beautiful location amongst the trees. The only other recommendations I would provide are to bring plenty of drinking water due to the taste and to not use the washer due to the possibility of rust stains from the water. ##### Dawn C. There were some minor issues with breakers needing to be reset several times (primarily for the kitchen) and the breakers in the breaker box (behind the downstairs refrigerator) were not labeled. The ping pong paddles need replacing as well as light bulbs in the kitchen and bedrooms. The toilet paper holder in the upstairs bathroom is also in repair. We let the property manager know who quickly responded. The kitchen is in need of hand towels and pot holders. Plenty of plates, bowls, etc. None of these needs negatively impacted our stay. Hairs on sheets under covers in lower bunk room. Cobwebs inside and out on decks and porches. Biggest issue is safety for kids and pets. Inside upper floor stair rails too wide. Even worse the upper deck rails are too wide. Neither would pass code today. This is really an issue that should be addressed unless restricting property to adults and no young children or pets. Minor, checking out instructions in house say leave linens and online they say try to start a load of laundry (which we have never heard of on a rental property). The dock is brand new, big, and has deep enough water on one end for kids to jump and dive. We second the recommendation to bring a 10x10 tent to provide shade during the day. Paddleboards and canoe were great. Living space was large and open. Check in was easy, linens and bath towels were provided, and the house was clean. Cons - You absolutely cannot do laundry due to iron in the water. Laundry will be stained; in fact, our skin was actually stained orange within a few days from the showers. Bring your own water for coffee, drinking, etc… Several items in the house were not in good condition. Grill was broken and did not have grill cleaning equipment. Dartboard had no functional darts. Kitchen chairs and table were wobbly - we actually had tools and repaired them ourselves. Lighting above the table was very dim and we needed to use extension cords to move lamps in order to play games at night. Vacasa was notified about the grill and the iron in the water. We were told that the grill would be repaired on Day 2 but no one showed up all week. We actually repaired it ourselves. Vacasa was also notified mid-week about the iron changing the color of our skin. We had a wonderful stay—this home met all our needs and more! It’s spacious, with generously sized rooms, and the layout offers quiet, private bedrooms, which we really appreciated. The kitchen was great to cook in, with plenty of counter space. I cooked dinner every night and felt totally at home. There’s also a nice grill on the deck, which we used often. The outdoor space is a highlight! The deck and dock are both fantastic. We spent hours fishing, swimming, relaxing, and enjoying beautiful sunsets right from the dock. One thing to note: there are quite a few steps on the property—from the driveway to the house, and from the house down to the dock. We had older parents with us, so we had to take extra care. It was unfortunate to see that the house did not look like the pictures posted online, as it is not well updated or taken care of. Upon our arrival we noticed peanut butter on the dinning room table, hair in the toilet, dirty coffee mugs, patched up holes with different color paint, a sticky downstairs floor, missing towel holders and an unsafe and loose banister near the stairs. The pictures should really be updated to show the current state of the house. I’d also suggest getting a new maid service. For the cost of this house, we were disappointed. The interior could definitely use a make over and update of flooring! Age of home shows but overall it was accommodating to our needs! Cleanliness overall was ok.
