It was our 4th visit in 4 years and it does not disappoint! The area around it is perfect for a slowed down weekend getaway full of fresh air good food and comfort. You can eat in other locations at the Weir or walk up to Porlock (bit of a long hill) or walk across to Bossington (6 mile round trip across the bay). However the pizzas on the Terrace are really great with a cider to watch the sun go down. ##### Clare Stayed 2 nights in Jun 2023 ### 6/10 Okay #### SIMON Aug 19, 2025 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities #### Pull your socks up Porlock Weir Hotel We have enjoyed several stays at this hotel in the past, but clearly this time the hotel was having major staffing problems along with showing major signs of wear and tear. Our room though cozy had an easy chair that I sat in and needed to get my partner to pull me out as the springs are totally gone; the chairs in the dining room were in a similar state. We were with our friends so we were a group of eight people and had major problems with dinners in the dining room and sent food back several times. There were also issues with the person on the front desk as they were obviously inebriated with alcohol. The whole experience made me very sad as we’ve had such wonderful times there in the past; hopefully they can take this feedback and get the hotel back up to the level.
