The location was perfect — close to West Jefferson, Wilkesboro, Boone and the area where we plan to build our own cabin. The renovations to this historic home were beautifully done, with a unique paint color palette paired with warm wood tones throughout.The back deck was the highlight — we loved relaxing on the porch swing, watching the clouds and weather roll over the mountains. As a birdwatcher, I also appreciated being able to place a feeder (with the owner’s kind permission) and enjoy seeing mountain birds. The decor throughout was full of charming, historical touches, and the cabin was very clean, spacious and well-stocked. We were provided with plenty of towels, toiletries, places to store our luggage, hooks for backpacks/other and all the kitchen essentials. We enjoyed being close to the Parkway and several hiking trails. Cabin is also close to several different choose and cut tree farms if you’re coming to get a tree like we were!
