This large studio is the lower unit of a house built in 1965\. My wife and I live upstairs, above this apartment - You may hear us moving about. Recently renovated with new furniture, the apartment is fresh, light-filled and private. Surrounded by trees, it truly feels like a private haven. The small kitchenette has a Coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave oven, and toaster. It is not setup for cooking. Perfect for weekend getaways or even a week of sight seeing in the Bay Area, our apartment offers quiet serenity and comfort. Very well appointed unit below Mitch's place. We basically didn't know he was home, unless I needed something, then he was very responsive. The location is great, in a very nice neighborhood, with tall eucalyptus trees all around. It's very close to Mt Tam, Muir Beach, and Sausalito and Stinson aren't far. The patio was nice for a nap on the lounge chairs, although those could probably use some padding. The bathroom and shower were really nice and roomy, and the bed was super comfortable. This property is about 10-15 minutes from a lot of different hiking options on Mt Tam and also Muir Woods. It was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed for our weeklong stay in the area. Mitch and Susan were great and responsive to all of our questions. I’m so glad I found this place bc this area is great and we enjoyed our time north of the golden gate more than our time in the city. The only two things I will mention here, especially for those staying with children, is that this is a one room apartment, with no door between the bedroom and living area. I misinterpreted the description and the pictures don’t really give a good impression of the size of the apartment. This would be an ideal place to stay alone without kids-for us, however, having no break from my 9 year old for the week was exhausting. The only other thing I’d like to mention here is that the caretakers do live upstairs, and the footsteps in the morning seem loud at times. The couple of days when my son didn’t wake us up with the TV, the footsteps above definitely did. But we are relatively early risers, so it wasn’t a huge deal. But if you like a good sleep-in, that may be difficult at times here. Other than that, this was definitely a five star stay in a perfect location. Lovely. I was reticent to rent here as it only had 1 review. But, as it was the last minute, we had no choice. So glad that we did!!! Of the 3 apts that we have rented in the Bay Area, this one is BY FAR the best of the bunch. Everything in it is updated, clean & well designed to maximize space, aesthetic appeal & convenience. The view is even more lovely than the photos depict & the space is so bright with natural light from the many well-placed windows that it never occurred to us to turn on the lights (except during our pre-dawn departure). But, I cannot emphasize enough the comfort: While we have stayed at some very cute places with brilliant views, this is the only VRBO in the Bay Area we have found that is COMFORTABLE. The bed was so comfortable, but what is more, the hosts even made sure that the fold-out sofa had an extra foam topper to make it especially comfortable (so when I snored my husband out of bed, he had a comfortable place to escape!). I have stayed at rentals on multiple continents. It is a rare host/hostess who is so considerate of the guest's comfort. Other favorites: There were plenty of towels & plenty of towel racks. Sweetest bonus: the hostess is a professional Marin County artist & some of her watercolors grace the walls. Makes you feel less like a customer & more like a guest. One caveat: during the daylight hours, there is foot traffic above your head (as in any hotel). But, come nightfall, the house & neighborhood are dead SILENT. ##### Natalie M. We were very comfortable. We enjoyed the lovely coastal fog. A welcome break from Central California. It’s central location made it easy to drive out to the Marine headlands, Sausalito, hiking trails, and Old Mill Valley. The minimal kitchenette was more than sufficient for our needs.
