I had seen these house boats last time I was in the SF area and wanted to try them out. It was nice when the tide was up as you had a very gentle movement on board. For us it rained the whole time. Poured and the wind…but the boat house was solid. The area is interesting. The house is located behind some industrial buildings. The parking is all based on the tides. We did not have any problems. Sausalito is a short drive to the downtown area and restaurants. And the ferry to San Fran.
