The Retreat brings forth a luxurious, family-friendly feeling in every room. Built with delicate and dedicated craftsmanship in every detail and garnished for a kings and queens. The Retreat will render incomparable memories. Ideal for corporate outings, golf excursions, family gatherings, or even spiritual retreats for two, four people, or an entire family/group. Master bedroom is the only room on main floor that has a kingsize bed and it has its own master bathroom with a half bath also located on main floor. There are two full size beds and a love seat size sofa in the room above the garage which is technically the basement. The 6 other bedrooms are on the second floor and basement and all have 1 queen size bed each. There are two sofas in the main living room and two more sofas and love seats in the basement. There are two dining rooms with a dining table in each room with a total of 14 dining chairs. There are 3 game tables. There a total of 12 flat screen televisions. There are a total of 4 couches. There are 16 arm chairs/love seats. There are 2 big desks and 8 side desks. There are 2 patio tables. There is an amazing pool table and poker room. There is an outdoor screen in, enclosed covered cigar terrace that accommodates 8-10 guests. The home is also equipped with a barbecue grill that is connected to a propane line, no need to mess with tanks. The home is in a gated community and is very private, but not isolated. The views from the back deck are absolutely wonderful. The property overlooks Brights Creek golf course. Note that there are several nice golf courses in the area but you can play a round of golf on our amazing championship course (designed by Tom Fazio) and also enjoy a delightful meal at our onsite restaurant. The interior of the home is exceptionally well done, with quality woodwork and high end furnishings. Every bedroom has its own beautiful bathroom which is perfect for large gatherings. The billiards/media room is spectacular. Lots of attention to detail everywhere. There are plenty of tempting trails and excursions to take you off the beaten path at Bright’s Creek. With more than 4,700 acres of pristine landscape in Western North Carolina’s coveted Blue Ridge Mountains, the opportunities for exploration and discovery are boundless. Our extensive network of hiking trails is adorned with dozens of creeks and rivers, stunning views, rare rock formations, and limitless flora, fauna, and visual delights. There were 12 of us and we were all very comfortable. The two living areas are spacious and comfortable with plenty of activities such as a pool table. Plenty of room for privacy and the recreation area on the ground floor was enjoyed by everyone especially with some rainy days during the stay. We chose this property as a meeting point for our family Thanksgiving! We are a family of 14 and everyone was comfortable with plenty of room to spare! We had movie night, fire pit night, game room night. And of course prepared our thanksgiving meal! The home is so accommodating that you don’t want to leave! We had a party of 17 staying at this location. It was extremely spacious and had plenty of room for us all. It was equipped with more than enough towels, dishes and cookware, and even toilet paper, paper towels, and detergent. The location is beautiful - quiet with amazing views! The upstairs and downstairs washer and dryer were very convenient, although we had some trouble getting the upstairs dryer to start. May need a vent cleaning. It was the perfect place for our remote company to meet in person for the first time. The property is spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. The house was nestled in a gated community in the beautiful mountains of Western NC. The grandeur of The Retreat was evident the minute we pulled into the driveway. The house boasted 8600 sq ft of beautiful, well appointed accommodations. The wood craftsmanship throughout the home was spectacular. The floor to ceiling windows provided breathtaking views of the mountains and golf course. The layout of the home was perfect for our group (aged two to eighty seven years). Each of the eight bedrooms featured their own bathroom en-suite bathrooms which were so convenient and private. All of the beds were super comfortable too. The open concept kitchen lacked nothing! It was supplied with every appliance, utensil, pot, pan, dish, etc. one might need to fix a meal. The media room with the pool table, chess /card tables, 70 inch TV and wet bar was a big hit with our younger crowd. Our elderly parents enjoyed relaxing by the beautiful stone, gas fireplaces. Even with the frigid temperatures during our stay, our grandkids were able to sit by the fire pit and fix a favorite dessert - s’mores. Check in and out at The Retreat was very easy. The kitchen was WELL appointed. There were many, many glasses, cups, bowls,plates, platters, knives, spatulas, even an electric ice cream maker. A wooden box containing a selection of teas was available. There were pods for the dishwasher and washing machines. There was a large box of instant hot chocolat. We never had time to use. There was a good supply of toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. The towels were good quality and there was an ample supply. We went to play bridge but a fancy case of poker ships was available. With the fire pit came a nice supply of wood and kindling. There was even fire starter which we did not need.
