"Lots of love and history has been put into this charming rental cottage named Serendipity, as it is one of the original Sheridan Beach homes built back in 1942, that has been renovated and upgraded with top notch materials and an upstairs loft added on to create more space and a slight view of Lake Michigan!! All the thoughtful touches inside and out, plus the warmth and the cleanliness are what make for a comfortable place for all guests to relax and de-stress! Start out the day soaking in the morning sun's energy in the front porch chairs with a cup of coffee, made fresh from the house coffee bar, or retreat to the back porch (off the master bedroom), to take in some calming meditation or yoga while listening to the distant sounds of the waves from Lake Michigan nearby. Lots of comfy, quiet places to get lost in your favorite book or find one from the vast collection that fills the shelves in the living room and 2 bedrooms. Curl up on the couch, in the master bedroom or upstairs in the cozy loft to enjoy movies or streaming from your Netflix or Amazon accounts on the 3 mounted TVs! Need to catch up on a little work while the kids watch a movie? There's a dedicated work space/desk up in the loft for your use. The two queen beds were super comfortable and the beach is a short walk. There was an issue with the A/C and Angie let us know before we even arrived that she would take care of it ASAP. She was always readily available for any questions and recommendations. The backyard games, bikes and boogie boards were huge hits for our kids. We now have to have boogie boards anytime we go to the water :) We come up to Lake Michigan every summer and plan to return to this home next year. Thank you for a wonderful stay! ##### Shantel A. Our host was amazing, the house was so adorably decorated in a beach theme, and fit our group comfortably. We loved the house had a fully stocked Smores kit that we enjoyed at the outside fire pit, as well as a fully stocked coffee bar. A variety of games and puzzles were also available which we took advantage of one rainy day. The location is perfect! The beach is a short distance away, and Dunes State and National Parks are not too far away as well. We will definitely stay here when we return. I cannot say enough about how great the host was in ensuring we had a pleasant stay. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We loved it and highly recommend it!! ##### Terra B. The house is thoughtfully designed to accommodate all types of travelers from the very young to the not as young. There was not a single item that we needed that the house did not have available. There were bikes, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, backyard games, indoor games, puzzles, books, movies, a gaming system and the list goes on! The kitchen was stocked and even included a little Keurig coffee bar with coffee/hot chocolate and all the fixings. If you are considering a trip to Michigan City Indiana, do not think twice. They truly have everything for for fun in the sun to rainy weather/staying in activities. There is a book with all the rules, places to go, restaurants (and menus), grocery stores. We ordered pizza one night, another night we hung out at the firepit, making hot dogs and smores. The beach was a bit chilly but we anticipated that with the time of year. Even though it was chilly it was beautiful and peaceful. The cottage is charming and it feels like home. We could tell how much love has been poured into making this a fabulous getaway! So many thoughtful details. One of my favorites was the labeling of things like light switches. My girls loved it and even my teenage son enjoyed the house - and you know sometimes not much impresses them at that age. Lol. Serendipity—they picked the best and most fitting name for this slice of heaven. Thank you for sharing this special place with us. I sincerely hope we followed all the rules and didn't miss anything at checkout. I would love to return for a longer stay. I highly recommend. Just a short walk to the beach with all the staples (beach cart, umbrella, chairs, coolers, etc.) available. It had everything we needed! The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. They have all sorts of toys and items for the beach. Our daughters loved all the books and games when we wanted to cool off in the house. It is super close to a nice beach! We also enjoyed going to the Indiana Dunes National Park each day, so our daughters could be Jr. Rangers. I totally recommend this house! This house was absolutely perfect for us and filled all of our needs. From the time we walked in, we were impressed with the updated finishes throughout and the attention to detail in the lakeside decorations. It has everything needed for a fun vacation, including a fully equipped kitchen, plenty of beach towels, bikes, beach chairs, firewood, snacks, and plenty of games and entertainment options. The owner was very responsive to all inquiries and clearly wanted to make our stay enjoyable. Lake Michigan and a beautiful park is a short walk away. It would also be perfect for a couple of families as well. The upstairs area was a fun "kids room", but we enjoyed it as well. Can't say enough about this booking. Everything was spotless and so welcoming (including the freshly baked banana bread!). The owners were super friendly and communicative throughout our stay. The master bedroom has one of the most comfortable mattresses I've ever slept on! Every detail beautifully planned. We went for our annual summer beach vacation, but wanted to come back to stay inside, bake, read the books and play the games provided. All the little extras and details made it special. The location is just a short walk to the beach and beach access is clean with a cart path and a restroom. The house binder is super helpful and informative. The house is really close to Sheridan Beach. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Love all of the bikes and beach gear in the garage. We honestly could not have found a more perfect home for our family. The decor is tasteful and cozy. The upstairs loft is perfect for children. The bathrooms are fantastic!
