Hotel room and pool are very small.
If traveling with children, I would find another hotel. The pool is very small, the room is very small, no drawers to put you clothes in, no table or chairs, nothing but the bed(s) and a TV. If you order room service you literally have to put the food on your bed and eat from the bed, not ideal. You have to ask the front desk for ice, there is no ice machine. The Clevelander is "the party spot" on South Beach, again if you have children you may want to find another hotel since the Clevelander is a sister property of The Essex. They are back to back. You walk by the Clevelander to get to the beach. I can't say enough about the lack of parking. They do offer valet service for $40 a day. The key is being able to find 1 of the 2 drop off spots available so the valet can take your car and park it. If you are visiting South Beach to simply party, walk everywhere and never be in your room then The Essex would be perfect.
