Staff during check-in were very rude, refused my booking online via Expedia and forced me to pay a higher rate in cash. Did not attempt to assist me with filling out the forms etc. And brushed me away when another customer arrived. The room was a good size however it smelled really bad. The carpet was old and had an odor. The water pressure in the shower was the best I've seen in CDMX, but that's probably the only positive thing about this hotel. The location was great too. But I would not book this place again. There are much better places to stay only 15 minutes walk from here.

On secondhand .....
We had stayed at this hotel a couple years ago because of its location (historic district) and knew what to expect from hotel. We get what we paid for, but we need to draw the line when there are roaches in the bathroom 😣. Lots of street construction right in front and next to hotel, but that did not keep us from getting sleep 👍.

Hotel Hidalgo
It is located in a heart of Mexico city, very close to Bellas Artes. It’s safe, clean, just what you need for a few nights. Bed was very comfy. We cancelled a hotel which we booked before, it was located in Morelos, don’t ever choose hotel in this area. Hotel Hidalgo was a great replacement, very safe.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and overall hotel are in older condition and could use a little maintenance but overall for the price it was a decent place to spend a couple nights.

Subpar stay with reasonable pricing
No-thrills hotel with bare essentials. The location was near perfect, although next to a shady street, it’s only a few minutes away from Bellas Artes. The service was okay but the receptionist seemed rather unpleasant. The cleanliness was not good, as there were some stains found in my bed + toenails on the floor. Clearly they had not cleaned the room properly, nor did they intended to as it just seemed like a job done lazy. It was a cheap stay which was nice but I wouldn’t stay for another time.

Very nice, clean and quiet hotel.
Very nice hotel for the price. The hotel is very clean, the service is very good. The rooms are a bit on the small size, but very clean and the bed is comfortable. The location is fabulous, close to attractions and all kinds of public transportation. I will be staying there again for sure.

Reasonably priced, well located and comfortable
One block away from the Alameda, this reasonably priced hotel is well worth considering even though the block in all 4 directions can be a bit spooky at night. Although rooms do not have air-conditioning they have a large ceiling fan. Area is quiet. Cable t.v. Belles Artes, several meusems and transportation are all very nearby. City theater (live performances) is kitty-corner although entrance is one block away.

Excellent budget hotel.
I booked 3 nights but stayed an extra night. My room was on the first floor with a window onto a little used patio with at least 10 flowering potted bougainvilleas. The bed was soft and comfortable and at night the room was pitch black and dead quiet. The bathroom had a bidet! Although located a 10 - 15 minute walk from the zócalo there is a subway stop (blue line) less than a block away in a convenient plaza that hosts food stalls and a flea market during the day. It is only 1 block off the Alameda. I would definitely stay here again.

Across the street from the Palacio de Belles Artes
Location very convenient to the historic central district of Mexico City. One short block to the Alameda and Belles Artes, great restaurants nearby. Fifteen minute walk to the Zócalo and National Palace. Five minutes to the beautiful Post Office/Museum. Great value in central location.

Good budget option in the Historical Center
My stay was pleasant enough. It's centrally located right around the block from Palacio Bellas Artes. I really only had two complaints. One was the Wi-Fi at times worked okay but cut out quite often and the ventilation in the room. There is no air conditioning and there was no fan in the room which would have helped a lot. It wasn't very hot outside but the small window in the room didn't provide enough comfort. They should have a fan in every room. Do yourself a favor and visit Cafe Pagoda on Cinco de Mayo on the left hand side as you walk toward the Zocalo. Order the pozole soup, Verde with chicken was my choice. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day.

Convenient yet Unreliable!!
Let me start off by saying this "Arrived in Mexico City at 6pm 11-18 made reservations to stay thru Tuesday 11-22 booked in advance when I first arrived at the counter I let the front desk person know that I had reservations and didn't have the confirmation # on me but she should be able to look it up through my name her first words where well I am only honoring check-ins from people that I have a reservation printed for so she checked and there mine was she said your lucky but I am going to tell you now that your room is only guaranteed for one night she said I don't care we have buses of people coming in tomorrow and they get the priority so if you want your room it's for one night! I said why would I make a reservation for 4 nights if I would only be guaranteed for 1? She was so rude and uncaring she then proceeed to tell me that those where the orders from her hotel manager and the other days would be my problem of course looking for a room at that point would be very difficult but I tired anyways everything was booked it was the NFL in Mexico that weekend.. that night they came up to let us know that we could go downstairs and pay the rest of the nights in advance and they wouldn't kick us out.. (how nice of them) Dont waster your time staying at this Hotel it is in a very unsafe alley like street.. they don't show that on the pics... hotels.com should take them off their site as well

You get what you pay for!
The hotel is located across Palacio de Bellas Artes and near Garibaldi and the Socalo. Although it isn't as clean as I would have wanted it to be, it gives you the value for your money. It's a good place to be at because it's very inexpensive and so centrally located. Early check-in and late check-out where a plus.

In the heart of Mexico City, decent place to stay.
Just one block away from Palacio de Bellas Artes. Even though the immediate surrounding may not look very convincing, the hotel itself is clean, and definitely worth the price.

This hotel lacks air conditioning. When I booked, I refined search with those having AC and this one popped up. Upon arrival in the late afternoon, we found out it didn't have AC and the room was beyond warm. We only stayed one long night because of this. During our stay, I can say it was clean. Everything is dated, but the price of the hotel makes up for that. I believe there was only one electrical outlet in bathroom and one in room to charge cell phones and laptop. I would stay here in cooler months like in December or January.

The stay was wonderful. The room was quiet and comfortable and the service was good. The price was also good. The biggest negative for me was poor internet access. I had to go the lobby to connect or to used the computer they provided for guest. Even though this is a huge issue for me, I would stay there again.

The neighborhood was scary!!!! That is the word! You couldn't even walk around at night time. Taxi was always needed. Even locals were scared of being around there. No taxis around, I had to call uber all the time.

I arrived on a busy holiday weekend and the hotel was very busy. The room was basic but fine. The bed was hard and the sheets were not cotton. The noise in the hallways was loud and continued until 2 am. The lights consist only of overhead stark lights. Overall, it was adequate for a short stay.

We booked on hotels.com, and received our confirmation email, however when we arrived we were told that they had no rooms available. No attempt was made to check our reservation. Overbooking is both profoundly inconvenient and unprofessional.
