Our room had very creeky floor boards quite dated needed work doing in the room, paint coming and cracking off the radiator, fan made terrible nosie. From staying in other suites within the hotel before which were amazing (which is why I came back) it was quite disappointing!

Always love staying here. Pity the Tv doesn’t work very often and they still need to remove cobwebs over the beds, But otherwise a great stay as always

Lovely all round, the rooms, the spa and the staff are all great, and the food is amazing, both the evening meal and the breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting.
I love staying here. The food is really good, there is plenty of parking and the rooms are big. There are a few downsides - though not enough to make me want to stay anywhere else! In my room (7) there was a shower attachment by the bath taps but no shower curtain, the Wi-Fi is woefully poor. The stairs to the rooms are steep and narrow, I'm 'getting on a bit' and would have appreciated a hand with my bag.

Stayed here as a family for one night as a stop over for our onward journey. Receptionist on arrival was very lovely and made us feel welcome. The room layout was fantastic the two single beds were separate to the main bedroom, the room was large with a sofa and table and the bottled water and biscuits were a nice toutch. The room was clean with nice white fluffy towels and a comfy bed. The only thing that lets this hotel down is that it's tired and needs alot of repair in places but the children enjoyed the pool and the staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a nice breakfast before we headed home.

Nice place, but sewer smell on ground floor rooms
I've been on this hotel a few times when working in the area. The rooms are basic but it's a nice place on a lovely setting. The only issue I found is the ground floor rooms have an obvious problem with the sewers and the smell coming from them. They tried to cover it up by having plug in air freshener on the rooms, but it's quite obvious and the staff is very aware of it. The issue has been going for a few years as a couple of years ago I had the same problem with the awful smell, surely they should address it and not give customers those rooms until they sort out the issue. The last time I was only staying for a single night and I was exhausted when I arrived, I tried to stay in the smelly room but the smell was just awful and I developed a terrible migraine in a couple of hours. I had to ask the staff to move me to a different room. They were very apologetic as they could smell the sewer everywhere in the corridor leading to those rooms, they confirmed the issue has been going a while and they themselves don't understand why this isn't addressed by the management. My migraine was gone within minutes after I left the room with sewer smell, so I believe this is also a health and environmental hazard for guests. The customer service at the hotel is always fantastic.

Not good enough quality wise. The hotel room was damp and showing signs of rust on all bathroom furniture. The room smelt of damp and the curtains were also showing signs of damp. I am extremely dissapointed with my stay and a complaint has been raised by yourself. I hope to get some investigation outcome as soon as possible as I do not feel spending what I did there warrants the stay I had

Comfortable large room with friendly staff.
Great location, lovely quiet room overlooking the river. Large bed (new looking) with confortable mattress. Teenage son on camp bed which was uncomfortable. Bed only really suitable for young children in my opinion. Staff always welcoming and resolved camp bed situation with a double mattress. Swimming pool was huge and spa area clean. Cooked breakfast was top quality and continental breakfast plentiful. Decor throughout looking tired but our room was clean and spacious. Electric car charging point a big bonus but not clearly signed and other car users blocked access.

I found this hotel not worth the price tag at all. The property is clearly lacking in basic maintenance and is very worn down. Cleanliness is also very lacking. Black mould on tiles in the bathroom and the shower head caked in it and all round the window in the bedroom. Dust piled high on most horizontal surfaces. The bedding and beds need replacing as the bedding and mattress were so thin and uncomfortable it was difficult to sleep. Carpets worn through and in other areas duct taped together. Rendering, facias and guttering falling off outside, plaster and coving coming away inside. This hotel would benefit from a major refurbishment.

Dissapointed overall on a 5th return visit. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Room needs reorganising and redecorating. Dirty carpet. Toilet handle loose and didn't always flush first time. Bathroom door hard to shut. Floor covering loose at edges. Extractor fan didn't work. Excellent food at dinner with good service, have always enjoyed good food here. Very nice staff. Felt hurried out of bar as staff wanted to go home after dinner, didnt appear to be a facility for residents to enjoy a drink at their leisure. Breakfast good, but last breakfast at 0945am is too early. Don't think money has been spent on the place for some time. My wife enjoyed the leisure centre. Broken, flaking cement render on the entry to reception gives a poor impression. Hopefully things will improve.

Great place, but needs updating.
Had a great stay here for 2 nights, had to change room after first night due to noise as we were directly over the bar area and also i think the matress is due a change as the springs were all you could feel lying down. Some of the rooms could do with a refresh as they seemed a bit aged. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble, food very good, we would certainly come back again.

Excellent good value for money good in bay and breakfast was outstanding all staff very friendly but disappointed the hot tub was out of action but a nice swim made up for this. One of the rooms a little bit tired however this did not impede our stay in any way

The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The food was second to none both evening meal and breakfast. Lovely to have the option to use the spa. It was ashame the hot tub was out of order.Im sure we will return

Overall was a lovely stay as always but was very disappointed to see that the jacuzzi and steam room was out of order as that’s the only reason we went there is for the use of the facilities and a lot of money to find out it was out of order
