i enjoyed our stay as it was close to where we were going and the staff were helpful. i would stay there again as it was close to public transport to see the whole of melbourne
Large apartment with everything you need. Cooking facilities, full sized fridge, washing machine & dryer. Mattress was a bit hard for us. Only a $10 Uber ride into ackland street but cafes wihtin a few minutes walk
My mother and were trapped by a jammed door and couldn’t get out of the room. The phone line in the room was broken and couldn’t contact the receptionist to get us out. Using our mobile phone we called the number and connected to the receptionist on staff who had to get us out opening the door from the outside. When I requested a new room as it was a matter of FIRE SAFETY STANDARDS TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE ROOM INCASE OF A FIRE the staff member lied telling me that the hotel was booked out which I discovered untrue by booking online a room under an alias. He was so extremely rude to us and arrogant in his mannerism and made excuses for the the avoidance of changing the room. There was another staff member who was much better and changed the room but by the time it happened it was after midnight 5 hours later after the initial complaint. My mother and I had an important appointment 7am and due to the situation escalated we both had so much anxiety we couldn’t sleep the entire night afterwards.
This is unacceptable to me that it was even a discussion point regarding the rooms safety compliance deemed UNSAFE.
The first room we were given was on floor nine. There was a terrible smell in the hallway and the room had a terrible musky smell of smoke with furniture in very poor condition. We were moved to a room on floor thirteen that had a stale smell but much improved. Our room was not serviced despite leaving a sign on the door requesting the room to be made up. On return to our room late it was too late for servicing and we were just given replacement towels.
Windows were filthy and the microwave didn’t work. This motel failed to live up to its description and images on Wotif.
The bathroom was pretty gross. Very mouldy shower curtain and grout. The silicone has deteriorated to the point of totally falling apart. I asked reception for a new shower curtain, however they don’t keep them in stock and don’t change them between guests.
I got out an extra blanket - as the bed has one very average doona. Blanket had hair on it, so I assumed that wasn’t clean either. Housekeeping swapped for a new one.
Bed was comfortable. Room was very small with $2 curtains.

On arrival we were given our room number and on opening the door of our allocated room we walked in on another traveller in the room. We had been given the same room as him. This was rather embarrassing for all concerned.
Apparently the person we walked in on had also had this happen to him.
The room was simple and nice. There was a fridge, stovetop and small aircon/heating unit. The airflow was nice from the window and the bed was comfortable for short term stay.
You get what you pay for. Adequate room. Looking a bit tired now. This annoyed me a little as the hotel took a $100 retainer and keep it for a week after checkout incase I broke anything. Get to the room and all the furniture is scratched and worn, all shelves, sockets and fictures are on the wonk and stains on the carpet.
That being said, location is great as it is away from the noise of the cbd. Trams right outside. Small restaurant has a great menu and reasonably priced.
Would still recommend
Very clean comfortable and affordable. And syaff were lovely

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
Whilst I did enjoy my stay at the property on the 16/10/2023, it was the lack of consideration & professionalism regarding the refund of the security bond that ultimately set the tone.
I was assured it would clear back to my account within 5 working days.
Eight days later & I'm still waiting for it to be reinstated back to my account.
What's more I spoke to the Duty Manager at 12:00pm 23/10/2023 who assured me once i sent the email containing the particulars required from the bank that it would be immediately actioned.
5:04 pm & well & truly several calls later still yet to be actioned.
As if the situation wasn't ridiculous enough I faced behaviour by which I can only describe as egregious.
Hanging up on guests purely due to the fact you feel it's your inherent right simply does not help to resolve a situation which would've been rectified had you exerted some due diligence & simply carried out your job as per the policies you stand by.
Absolutely disgusted & definitely will not be revisiting this venue again.

Liked: Staff & service
Areas to improve but generally good overall.
Everything was fine except for the fridge - it would over freeze everything and ruined all my food.
Cleanliness was passable but amenities were good. Probably just a little far out to be a convenient business hotel for the CBD and Docklands but made up for it in other ways.
I was really disappointed missing microwave in room, Garage shoot was full, could not empty my garbage. Missing spoon, fork and knife, could not have a cake with my tea.
please left your service standards.
