Great location
Oaks South Yarra is at a great location, round the corner of South Yarra Station. That's the main reason I chose to stay there flying to Melbourne. There are many shops, cafes and restaurant nearby on Toorak Road.

Comfortable and convenient
We stayed at the Oaks for six nights. After travelling for a week, the comfort and facilities were perfect for us - especially efficient washing machine and dryer!! The Oaks is located opposite the South Yarra train station - perfect for airport connections via Skybus and train. Similarly easy to the city, trams in Toorak and Chapel Sts for NGV, Hawthorn etc. Loads of cafes etc near my, altho the two hot plates, oven and microwave gave us home options. Bed was a Queen and ultra comfy. Bathroom shower etc all easy for two people. The train can be noisy if you’re sensitive - we closed that window at night. But we also sat on the balcony and train watched!! Terrific week!!

Great location and very friendly and helpful staff and check in. However my floor smelt like cigarettes and the balcony had not been cleaned properly as there were peanuts on the floor. Good option if you are not spending much time in the room.

Always my first choice.
By far my favourite go to spot when I need to stay in town. Friendliest staff. Rooms always clean and maintained. Easy quick check in. One of few places with beds that I can have a good nights sleep away from home.

Great location, comfort and convenience to public transport. The only niggles are poor lighting in the bathroom, and power points were oddly located. No spare power points on the desk and the ones in the kitchen were blocked by the microwave. And the toiletries were hard to use .. had to squeeze very hard to get anything out!

Good stay
Studio room was enough for what we needed, however, the microwave is so high up it was impossible to use. Very dangerous to have it so high up. Needs to be relocated lower down, even if its inside the 'pantry' cupboard. Great location, usually stay here when we visit Melbourne.

Property was fine great location. I was told by the lady when I checked in that the payment will be taken out of my account by Expedia. Which I agreed to that made sense. On the second day when I was walking outside the lady stopped me and said there has been an issue with the payment not going through, I checked on my online banking and the payment had gone through. I showed this to her and she said she would speak to manager. I didn’t hear anything back, I would assume before alarming a guest with an issue like this she would of checked the system or at least called me on the phone not just bringing it up when I was walking outside. When I arrived to the room there were dirty dishes in the dish washer, I had a friend staying in the accomodation with me, they didn’t have access to let her upstairs which I felt made no sense. So I had to go down stairs to let her in while the reception staff just stood there. There we no champagne glasses in the room we called reception staff they said they will send some up to the room. Funny how they had access to the rooms for this but they couldn’t let my friend upstairs. Just thought these issues didn’t need to happen I mean if I was staying at a backpackers this would be expected. At least an apologise would of been nice but maybe this is the standard of service they use here. I won’t be coming back so many other places to stay in the area.

location was good, The place was dirty and run down, it smelt of someone smoking. The common area doors, walls and carpet are in urgent need of an upgrade and were dirty. Very little attention to detail. Way over priced for what you got.
