The premises and rooms were fairly clean and fresh. We got a great discount so the price was great for Melbourne with a family of 4\. The atmosphere was friendly and full of excited back packers. The downside was the noise. We barely slept because there was a loud refrigeration type motor that kept switching on and off all night. And there was a man who was yelling somewhere nearby (it felt like underneath our window) all night at random intervals as well.
